    And no, the only reason I brought up Weeden was because you guys are a bunch of hypocrites. Jump on one player calling him a "bust" right out of the gate while another, who was drafted higher, can't even get on the field and is being passed by 4th rounders and (possibly) UDFA's on the depth chart. Gilbert should be embarrassed. Hopefully he is.

    They're supposed to make an impact, yes. A) there's still time. And B) but if they aren't an impact player, they can still be valuable to the team. If you're valuable to the team, you don't suck. If you're Brandon weeden, you suck. If you're Mingo , who isn't an impact player but can still make plays and help in other areas like pass coverage, you don't suck. You accept them for what they are: busts for where they were drafted but still quality players on our team. The problem we have with your Mingo and Gilbert opinions lies in the fact that you only view them as all pros or busts. And anything but the former means they suck. It's flawed logic.

    Exactly, we all want our first round picks to be all pro players, but the reality is that isn't going to happen with every draft pick. The next best thing that can happen is for the first round pick to provide some value to the team and actually contribute. I would take that any day of the week over a complete useless flame out like weeden/trich, quinn, green, etc. And as I said earlier, if you can get the later round guys to provide the impact you were looking for in the first round then there is really no harm/foul done (i.e. Seattles Seahawks).

    If healthy I think we really could have a dominate d line. I think Shelton is going to be a monster

    I don't watch every play, but from what I've seen, Gilbert is too early to give up and Mingo, while he doesn't suck, he's just not the mold of a top 10 pick and never will be. You don't take a one-trick pony/specialist in the top 10, unless he's an absolute dominant force.

    He's played in 15 games each of his first two seasons. Dude plays hurt, including most of last season with a bum shoulder as a line backer. Not much more you can ask for.

    He's had one injury and like COA said has missed two games.

    I really can't see how you can say Mingo sucks. Is he a bust for where he was drafted? Looks like it. But to say he straight up sucks is just plain ignorant.

    THAT'S WHAT'S GOTTEN THIS FRANCHISE INTO THE SHITTY STATE THAT IT'S BEEN IN FOR YEARS.

    Faine, Winslow, Edwards, Wimbley, Quinn, Richardson, Weeden, Mingo, Gilbert (likely) and Manziel (likely).....Miss after miss after miss....the only "keepers" they've had since 2003 are Thomas, Mack & Haden. I'm "meh" on Phil Taylor.

    But it's "ok" to keep on missing on impact players as long as they can be "contributors!"

    We've sucked because we've never had a QB. Not because our first round linebacker pick is decent, not great.

    He's a weeden supporter because I remember him actually supporting weeden and thinking he could be good. I could be wrong on him, but I'm pretty sure he liked the weeden pick. If I'm wrong I'll apologize to him. I know I'm not wrong on you though, you got so butthurt whenever someone would call you a moron for supporting weeden, it's no surprise you've turned to calling okay players shitty and saying the fans thinking that's okay is why we've been so bad. LOL.

    That's exactly what you're doing, Orange & Brown apologist. Mingo & Gilbert aren't "ok" players. In fact, when their rookie contracts are up, they will be lucky to still be in the league. Gilbert MIGHT have a future as a returner if he wasn't such a damn diva and would play special teams ("I don't do punts. I won't return them.")

    Even if Mingo isn't great, he was our most productive edge rusher last year on a per snap basis. Even if that's not overall productiveness, it is irrefutably, at a minimum, not "shitty".

    Huge difference between slobbing on Weeden and slobbing on Richardson.

    The national guys all slobbed on Richardson too, but were wary of Weeden.

    Honestly wasn't trying to give you shit. The second you realized weeden was hot garbage, you gave up on him. BR was too stubborn to admit he sucks until he was basically gone.

    We all agree on this, we just don't think he sucks, is worthless or should be out of the league like BR seems to think.

    My only contribution to this debate. How can someone be in love with Shelton and lost articles stating how he is impressing/looking good and will be a force for the D-Line etc, yet say it's too early to call Gilbert a bust?

    If you say it's too early/too early in TC to make a judgement, it goes across the board and the other way.

    I personally equate bust with being terrible/god awful and out of the league after your Rookie Deal. To me there is a difference between disappointing/bad and Bust, much like a difference between saying a player looks good, and calling him a superstar.

    So you can certainly say someone looks good/bad during preseason but you need 2/3 years before you can completely call someone a bust or superstar.
