2014-2015 Cleveland Cavaliers Season Thread

I've always had irrational love of Favors, but he's playing well tonight so far.

Just looked at his season stats, he's having a pretty good season stat wise. #2 PF in PER this season. Looks like he's starting to put it all together.

Great game tonight. A lot different than when they played at the beginning of the season and Heyward hit the game winner. Kyrie breaking up the 3-1 break and turning it into the alley-oop to Love was pretty.

Great stat lines by the starters other than LeBron and Kyrie should each get about 3 of JR Smith's shots.

That might be a little extreme. He definitely shouldn't lead the team in shot attempts, but I like the fact that he's a threat. Team's have to respect him which is huge for our spacing.

It looks like Kyrie is starting to get the team ball concept as well, and he's also playing very efficient. On our 4-game win streak, he's hit 36/63 shots, good for 57% from the field, 8/15 from 3-point range (53%), 23.75 ppg, 6 assists per game, and as many steals as turnovers. He's playing some good basketball, and even played some stellar D against Rose on Monday. Hopefully, these guys keep progressing further and learning to play together, and this thing could get really fun to watch!

Also, THIS was a thing of beauty!

Kyrie has played very well on the def end as of late. Read on Twitter last light that opponents where's he's the nearest defender are shorting 38%

Having Mozgov is huge. He fits our team as well as I could have hoped. His running the floor, quick flashes into the post before running the play, THE DEFENSE. My god, having a rim protector while getting effort from the whole team (especially Lebron); we've looked like a possible contender last few games and that's without Shump yet.

I'd rather use the roster spot on a backup ball handler so we don't have to see Delly in the playoffs.

I thought Hibbert fit the Cavs better, but through the few games Mozgov has played, I was way off. He has been perfect for them. He is quicker, which allows him to not be a space crowder when posting up. He doesn't just sit there the way Hibbert would've. Allows the guards to drive more freely.

The best compliment you can give is that it was a "panic trade" that doesn't look like a panic trade, but rather a well-thought out, well-researched move.

Weren't we targeting him before the season?

Yes, from what I heard out of Griffin in a recent presser, Mozgov has been on the radar for quite some time.

We need a backup pg badly but think that's solved, if Ray signs, by putting joe Harris down on the d league team full time. Not sure if that's how it works though or if he still takes up a roster spot.

I think Shump can play some PG.

Heard we were interested in Jordan Farmar
  • Midstate01
Yea I've heard farmar and nate Robinsons name attached to the cavs.

    Smith was 5/16
    Kyrie 8/13
    LeBron 8/16

I don't think it's too extreme to have LeBron and Kyrie each take away 3 of his shots....especially in the case of those shooting percentages.

    How about 2 each.

What's the rotation look like when Shumpert comes back?

Not even sure. But as long as it means less delly, then it's positive for the cavs.

I could roll with that. I just like the fact that JR is a scoring threat and that the entire starting 5 has been in the double digits the last couple games.
