Speaking of that, is harden the MVP of the league this year?

I think it is more the LeBron factor though. I agree with everything you said, except I still remember him taking horrible 4th QTR shots with the Knicks when they made the playoffs, so that team was not horrible. But, at the same time, were never a real threat. I think anyone on a LeBron team knows they have a shot. Makes them think twice on the court, which in JRs case, probably has led to him not shooting a few he normally wouldve.

That, or I am reading way to much into it and he is simply making the shots right now lol.

No question though, he is a different player on good teams. See Knicks in 2012 and his time in Denver.

I've not followed closely enough to speak intelligently on the MVP race. Would guess he Curry and maybe Lillard without checking any stats.
  • lhslep134
Harden's definitely in the mix with Curry, Lillard, Jimmy Butler (for reals) and Anthony Davis.
  • Mulva
I think it's Curry then everyone else at this point. NO doesn't win enough for Davis to be a contender.

Basketball-references MVP award tracker model has it Curry, Harden, Lillard, Paul, Teague. Some writer for NBA.com has Teague in his top 5 right now, too. I think #3 if I remember correctly.
  • Commander of Awesome
Teague is rated #3 by Sheridan.
  • lhslep134
Yeah the Pellies have to make the playoffs for Davis to have a shot. But he's been playing so well he has to be in the convo.

IMO Horford is more important to the Hawks' success than Teague

I don't see the Kings finishing near the playoffs, but if they did Cousins has the stats, as well.

Boogie's been awesome. I couldn't believe their owner canned the only coach that has been able to get through to him/Boogie wants to play for.

I'm all for a sign and trade deal involving love and any good big man.

great game all around last night. season is officially turned around though I could tell after the Lakers game Lebron had a different attitude (and was healthy) which is all the team really needed. I think Love could use a rest. All-star break should be good to him. JR has been playing pretty amazing. Mozgov has been great. Once Shumpert gets back, hopefully Delly will only see the court in garbage time.

Serious props to Griffin for the moves he's made on the fly.

Was at the game last night, and both of these guys were exceptional. I think JR's biggest impact isn't the fact that he scores or makes threes, but the fact that teams KNOW he can light it up. He really created a lot more spacing last night than I've seen out of the Cavs, and I think as a result, we saw a ton more offensive rebounds (Thompson 6, Love 5, Mozgov 5). Mozgov was also a force on defense really altering a ton of shots. He's exactly what we needed down low, and he can now allow Love to play his more natural position of the stretch 4 instead of trying to play center.

Can't wait to see Shumpert out there so I never have to watch Delly play meaningful basketball. The team really looked like the light clicked on last night, and while the Bulls didn't have Noah, they are still one of the best teams in the East. Back-to-back wins against high-quality teams, and three wins in a row means a winning streak!

Bulls have shot under 40% quite a few times past 2 weeks. Good win, but Bulls look like the cavs did 2 weeks ago.

That being said we should be beating the shit out of struggling teams. Glad to have a comfortable win and happy to get a winning streak going.

Maybe its because he is on a team he realizes can be legit. Hopefully its that, and it continues.
Its what he was like in Denver when we had him,and when NYK was good. I believe its that he has bo motivation on bad teams... as terrible as that sounds. When you guys acquired him i was praising that move. Him shump amd mozgov are amazing pickups.
When jr is playing motivated... hes Dion waiters only with a deadly jumper lol. Dont know why some people were upset to lose waiters. Waiters ceiling is Jr currently IMO

Still kinda salty we gave up Mozgov though

Another aspect where jr is vastly superior to Dion is usage rate. Dw needed/wanted the ball in his hands. Jr withers chucks it immediately or passes. With lbj and kyrie handing the ball dion was a ball stopper.

He's garbage, glad to be rid of him.

Agreed, and his most recent quote and the performance that followed further solidifies my feelings towards him.

“Listen,” he said, “they give me the ball. Like, I touch the ball. Like, I actually, like, you know, touch the ball.”

I thought his usage rate was slightly lower in OKC?

It is... that's the funny thing. I read an entire article about how everything is down slightly in OKC, and yet he's acting like everything has been way better. The only difference is that he's shooting 8% better thus far in OKC than he did in Cleveland.

    Yea.....thats coming down.

Saw this quote this morning, brought teh lulz.
LeBron on Gordon Hayward saying James can't "bully" him physically anymore: "If it made him feel better by saying that, then good for him"
