It's not even a bias thing. I think Russell is a potential great player. But it appears the Lakers really like Clarkson(I agree), so I can't really see them getting another guy who needs the ball. I just think if Randle turns out to be what he showed glimpses of during the preseason/summer league and you add in Jah...that's a dominate front line that can play with anyone.sleeper;1736651 wrote:Agreed. I think it's a good trade on paper but the Lakers are fine with Randle and the #2 pick. BTW, I think Russell is the play here but I'm biased. -

Yeah its either JAH or Russell for me as the best player in the draft. Not a huge fan of Towns.wildcats20;1736661 wrote:It's not even a bias thing. I think Russell is a potential great player. Azubuike24Imagine the Lakers getting Cousins, but still having the 6th pick and ending up with Mudiay or Justise Winslow?

Small ball. Winning teams do not need strong big men any more and I think Russel and Okafor fit the current state of the NBA better. The only way Towns should be top 3 is if he is a once in a generation talent and he's not.gport_tennis;1736707 wrote:Curious, why not a huge fan of towns? -

Are you confusing okafor and towns? Towns seems to be the better fit for small ball. Okafor is more traditionalsleeper;1736718 wrote:Small ball. GOONx19Towns is better at running the floor, IMO. Okafor's jumper is probably better at this point, but Towns never needed to take jumpers. Same with AD coming out. I'm not going to try to guess who will be the better pro, but I don't think Okafor and Towns are that far apart offensively.

Okafor has won something. Towns has won nothing. Towns team was stacked to the maximum in college and never won anything and I don't expect him to win in the NBA with an unstacked team.gport_tennis;1736735 wrote:Are you confusing okafor and towns? Towns in his workouts has been draining 3's. Seen him hit like 10-15 in a row in a workoutGOONx19;1736740 wrote:Towns is better at running the floor, IMO. MulvaTowns has a much better stroke, and way more range.
-
GOONx19Well then I take it back. Towns is better defensively and apparently better for the current NBA trend in offense, as well.

You're mischaracterizing Towns and Okafor. Towns is suited for running the floor and Okafor is post-bound. Esp. with Okafor's conditioning concerns.sleeper;1736718 wrote:Small ball. lol what a horrible trade offer by the Celtics. Be like Cavs offering Waiters, and two late picks for Wiggins and the wolves #1. -

Ryen Russilo pwns, wish he'd go back to hosting NBA Today podcast. He's my favorite NBA media guy.lhslep134;1736781 wrote:You're mischaracterizing Towns and Okafor. Towns is suited for running the floor and Okafor is post-bound. Esp. with Okafor's conditioning concerns.

Dr. KnOiTaLLIn other news, Phil Jackson said that he did a great job with the Knicks this year, and also said he doesn't like the offense in the NBA today (citing LeBron as an example).
"I watch LeBron James, for example," Jackson said. "He might [travel] every other time he catches the basketball if he's off the ball. He catches the ball, moves both his feet. You see it happen all the time. There's no structure, there's no discipline." -

But Noel and wiggins are not comparable. And neither is #1 overall and #3 overall. -

Does he prefer the fast paced and high scoring college games instead?Dr. KnOiTaLL;1736800 wrote:In other news, Phil Jackson said that he did a great job with the Knicks this year, and also said he doesn't like the offense in the NBA today (citing LeBron as an example).

gport_tennisThe only two changes I'd make to the game.
1)Widen the court (equal distance for all 3 point shots).
2) eliminate the hack-a-whoever fouls (give teams option to take ball out or shoot freebies) -
Azubuike24You can also argue that Towns wasn't leveraged nearly enough in college, either. I mean, all I heard for a year was how good his outside game was. Rarely did he ever step outside of 8 feet in college, and mostly it was because he didn't have to and wasn't asked to.
Towns has more of an offensive game like Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge. Okafor is much more in the traditional center role. Depends really on what you're trying to do. I think both have pretty equal value.
I mean, on the college level both guys blew away the likes of Joel Embiid in production and skill set. -
gport_tennisI thought Sleeper might have had a legitimate reason to not like towns, turns out he doesn't haha
