But Noel and wiggins are not comparable. And neither is #1 overall and #3 overall.
Yes S&L, I think everyone understands it's not a straight direct player for player deal, it was just a comparison. NN was being talked about as the #1 overall pick, as was Wiggns hence the comparison. There isn't a better comparison player on the wolves. Nor do the Wolves have the #3 pick, hence the #1 pick talk. Smart is pretty comparable to Waiters, both suck ass but we didn't know/believe how much Waiters sucked ass after his rookie campaign.

Thanks for ishleping up the NBA Thread with your nit picking nonsense.

That draft 2 years ago was also trash. Not a single player in the top 6 of that draft would've been top 4 last year or this year...

Phil Jackson would trade his entire team +5 1st round draft picks + $100M for Lebron James.

Agreed. Do you know if he'll have his own spinoff show now that his show with SVP is done?

I couldn't name 1 guard outside of Carmelo on the Knicks

I have no clue, didn't even know SVP was done.

Apparently their last show was Friday. Didn't find out until I saw some tweets Monday

The show is now just his show, and called the Russillo show. I was able to listen to him the last two days. He had Danny Kannell (spelling?) cohosting with him. So far the show hasn't really missed a beat. I think Russillo was the better host than SVP, and I honestly enjoyed the show more when SVP was out of town and Russillo was doing the show with a fill in.

Obviously Jackson has been very successful as a player/coach but the jealousy is always overbearing when someone within a currently lousy organization criticizes the successful ones.

So in 2011 you were on board with the Cavs drafting Kyle Singler instead of Kyrie Irving because Singler had at least won a championship?

Edit: found it in iTunes podcast store, thanks for posting. Definitely going to listen in on my drive home.

FYI Zach Lowe recorded a podcast with Steve Kerr yesterday. If you guys can stomach listening to someone talking about winning a championship that we lost, and I wouldn't blame you if you tell me to gfm, I recommend checking it out.

Deangelo Russell is going to be in the HOF so if you want a HOF you might as well grab him.

lol slow down. I love me some Russell, but lets be real. Is he Mike Conley? Prob not, and Conley ain't going HoF.
  • Laley23
Russell is better than Conley. Obviosuly not right now, but blows him away at same point in career and Russell has way better skills.

This. With all due respect to Greg Oden IMO Russell is the best player I've watched play at Ohio State(only since 97, but still).

    I agree.

I'm on record as saying I'd go #1 overall with him. He has it all, especially at the NBA level. Shooting, ball handling, driving, mid-range and most underrated portion...unreal vision and ability to execute a pass from that vision.

He is, IMO, the best pure basketball player in the draft.

I won't say better than Oden, because I think what Oden did and how good he was has been reduced by his following NBA career to the point we forget a lot of his 1 year at OSU. I'm included in that. I don't remember HOW GOOD he was exactly, but know it was good enough that I won't pass judgement on a comparison. He is no doubt better than anyone else to come through though. All the way back to and including Michael Redd.

Greg Oden was better and if he wasn't injury plagued or a wife beater, he'd be destroying the NBA right now. Russell is #2 and I hope he has a better career.
