Spolestra is the worst coach in the NBA. He had a player named Lebron James and that's why the Heat were so good.

    This season essentially proved it.

Kobe defended Westbrook for 54 on 43 shots. No surprise there.
His FG% on those 43 was better than the rest of the team's FG%

    They are terrible

Unless a guy is absolutely on fire he shouldn't be shooting that much. There is something to be said about getting your teammates involved as it increases their effort on both ends of the floor, and could lead to an even better shooting percentage as the offense isn't as predictable or one dimensional.

Not a fan of hero ball unless it was like Steph Curry the other night, even then he didn't shoot as much as Westbrook.

I think spolestra is a good coach, top 10ish for sure. They would have made the playoffs if bosh didn't get hurt. Tough to lose both Bron and bosh and still be competitive

Look at Heat's roster. Look at the Celtics Roster. thanks.

    Coaches I'd take over Sp:

    Pop
    Kerr
    Rick Carlisle
    Doc
    Vogel
    Stotts
    McHale
    Blatt
    Joerger
    Stevens
    Mark Jackson

Off the top of my head without even thinking about it.

Didn't say he was better than brad Stevens did I? I'd take only popovich over Brad Stevens. Brad Stevens has a chance to be the best coach ever IMO.

    Is that serious?

Yes. I'm not the only on to think he is an excellent coach.

Brad Stevens is the best in game coach in the NBA. Pop has a better system / culture gets the rest stuff etc. But Stevens is best in game

Spoelstra could be top 10 and still not be better than Stevens so that doesn't really counter his point

Here's a list of the current coaches

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_National_Basketball_Association_head_coaches

I'd probably have Spoelstra and Vogel around the top 10.

    1. Pop 2. Thibs 3. Stevens (he got them to the 7th seed, let's not overreact here...Thibs has done more with Joakim Noah as the fulcrum of his offense) 4-8 (no order) Kerr, Bud, SVG, Carlisle, Karl 9-11 Doc, Spoelstra, Vogel

But that doesn't necessarily mean they're good coaches; in the NBA talent means a lot more than coaching. I wouldn't argue with you if you thought guys like Stotts or Hornacek or anybody else in that range are better

Also making the playoffs doesn't make you a good coach, I.e. Vinny del negro, mike brown, kevin McHale, etc.

Stevens is obviously very good but the guy just made the playoffs for the first time. Let's ease up on "best coach of all time"

2 finals fours at butler is pretty damn impressive, have to include that in with his career. I said he could be the best of ball time, he will obviously need some better players, but if he gets the talent I could see him making consistently deep runs for a long time.

Right. But in the NBA success doesn't reflect good coaching as much as doing more with less does, so I'm pretty impressed by the job Stevens has done.
  • gport_tennis
His player development skills are very good as well, how many of those players are playing the best ball of their careers this year? Pretty much all of them I'd say

And lets face it, he only barely made the playoffs in the weak East even with the Cavs giving them 2 free wins.

Pretty excited for tonight's slate. 4 games to decide 2 playoff spots. OKC @ MIN and SA @ NOP; IND @ MEM and ORL @ BKN

The Celtics traded away Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green and all Stevens has done is led them to the 4th best record in the NBA since Feb. 2 with Evan Turner at PG. Stevens is incredible.

He's got a team of name brand stars and he can't even make the playoffs in the East. He's a bottom 5 coach at best right there with Derek Fisher LOL

That's great, but it was also a soft schedule. I think Stevens is a great coach though.

Henry Walker played 40 minutes, Haslem, Beasley and Tyler Johnston all played 20+ minutes in their last game. Bosh has missed half the year, wasde has missed 20+ games, Team of name brand stars? where?

Miami had a shit ton of injuries all year, next year if they are healthy they will be a top 3 team in the East and one of the best teams in the league.

Led wades corpse? GTFO. They should have easily made the playoffs this year and didn't. I see them as a 5th seed, and not even close to one of the best teams in the league.
