What will really bring the lulz will be if a pissed off Rice unloads on how the team and league knew everything when they said 2 games and are only changing their minds because it became public.

Mainly because that's what I (and a lot of others) think is what happened, he's the only person with nothing to lose by saying it since he's lost it all already and the ensuing shitshow will be epic. And if it gets GODell canned, I'm for it!

Good point, I never thought of that. Hopefully he does.

No doubt in my mind they all knew.

I add my thoughts on Karate Brown. First he shows the characteristics of the dumbass elite talent WR....they seem to be coming out more and more often. The Dolphins have our most recent one but Brown is on his way unless he grows up.

Anyways...just so dumb. His goal is a TD...he jukes everyone athletic, breaks down the field and the punter has him squared up, if he jukes to his left he likely runs in for the POSITIVE highlight, for whatever reason he leaps as if to hurdle but he jumped way too damn early. The only defense he might have for the early jump is that he picked him up late and assumed the punter was running towards him....once in the air he figured he was wrong and instead of just landing he goes all Hong Kong Fooey/Daniel Son. As soon as he did it I cringed and just knew what would follow....my team yields yet another dumbass. Every team has guys you shouldn't root for but the Steelers players are piling up too much.

I just never understand why these guys make such horrible decisions. Brown could be an elite player that everyone says "damn, wish he was on my team".....but stupid shit like that just brings on the "ha ha, that dumbshit is on your team.

The worst was Roberto Alomar one of my all-time favorite players...then he spits in the umpire's face. Fortunately, he apologized and he and that ump became good friends and Alomar raised a ton of money for that ump's very sick kid. He made amends the best he could.

I wish/hope Brown takes whatever punishment he gets and makes amends....do the right thing. Admit you were a dumbass and publicly apologize and do something good for that punter.

After Ryan Braun lied, got a guy fired etc....having signed a huge contract he needs to set that guy up for at least what he would've made the rest of his life plus a significant amount in addition. But he also owed it to the fans that vote him for everything. If I were him and knowing I was playing say LF.....buy season tickets for 50-100 fans (kids group, military family etc) in that section. And then have his people set up something similar for the 80 road games....it would cost him ~ $500,000 but to me would be the necessary "my bad, I was a dumbass, please give me another chance"

But most are too arrogant and get their way so they feel they don't need to, but as a fan I'd like to see it.

Good post, not the type of response I expected lol.

I am not on the same boat as you when it comes to talented but unlikeable players. They can do what they want with their money. If they are producing for my team, I really don't care if they are dumbasses unless 1. it becomes very detrimental to the team (i.e. gordon), or 2. if they are scumbags (rapistberger, rice, etc)

You would have thought last year the Lions were on their way to a SB title reading his posts. You're talking about the game who said BG is favored to win 11 of their games before the season started. They then proceed to get their asses kicked by WKU lol.

They were 6-3, that was the worse choke I have ever seen though down the stretch. I worry about the pass D though

You expected me to make lame excuses while showing no real disdain didn't you.

I just thought you liked Brown.

I LOVE what he brings...but his knucklehead tendencies had/have me leery. This was another knock. I really need him to clean it up. It's ok to be one of the best and also be a respectful player (Polamalu)

I loved James Harrison but hated some of his dirty moments. Loved Hines Ward but some of his blindsides I wish he hadn't done.

Glad we got rid of Mike Wallace and Santonio Holmes....just a matter of time I thought.

I would say no as well. Even if he did get reinstated at some point (which I believe could be a couple of years) his age then will become a factor as a RB compromising his productivity if or when he plays again. Besides that he would be head hunted by every defense that faces him, his career is over I don't see him recovering from this.

I hope this is true. Would love for the arrogant POS goodell to be forced to resign.

I would be a fan of this but not a fan of it overwhelming the sports world.

He'll probably be back in the league, I think what Mike Vick did was just as bad and maybe worse just because he actually got enjoyment out of that while Rice is just a fucked up dude. Btw Lions with a great effort tonight but the Giants are pretty horrible
  • gerb131
Carson Palmer still a damn good QB
  • Tiernan
Your comparing dog abuse to wife beating!?! Jesus dude who's the one that's fucked up?
  • Ironman92
Vick grew up around crazy dog fighting.....

Maybe Ray grew up around men beating the shit out of women.

Vick...SMH watching him in college and his early years. Was my favorite player just because of how exciting he was, didn't matter it wasn't the type to win it all or sustain health....but an effing blast to watch. His crime also indefensible.

Has he done anything negative since getting out of prison? (I don't pay as much attention or remember these off the field things as well as many of you)

Eh....he's pretty solid and piling up some good career statistics but not going with damn good.

Still has a lot of his old abilities and he is a smarter player.

Ever won a playoff game? He may be high up on that lists....Jim Hart?

Just went to pro football reference and drilled that comparison. Hart was 0-2 in playoff games. Carson has 3 more TD 212-209 and Hart is at 34,600 yards and Carson about 800 behind.

He's pretty damn good at throwing the deep ball. That's about all.

God I hope that report from TMZ is real. Goodell is a grade A POS
  • Terry_Tate
That is such a terrible spot. He literally marked it a yard short of where Ellington was.
