Nope, NBA doesn't really allow that with the new CBA, they could be backloaded to an extent, but not a major amount. I'm not gonna do the research but I think it's only something like 10%. Now they could do some deal with the Rockets did with Asik/Lin where the cap figure is at like 8, but they are actually getting paid 15

Melo to la won't happen, horrible fit. Him in Chicago would be perfect, and he's fit in fine on defense. He's no Leonard on D obviously but he's not harden- esque either. His advanced defensive statistics back up that he's average on defense.

Fuck that. Did he score 19pts a game on 55% shooting?

Lakers are offering Melo a max 4 year, $95 mil contract.
  • wildcats20
    Sorry make that $97 mil

@ramonashelburne: Lakers made it clear to Melo today they'd offer the maximum, 4-yr, $97mil contract they can, if he chose them.

Hopefully he's smart enough to realize Chicago is much better if he wants a title and not another rebuilding project

Any team that has the room is going to offer Melo Max if they think that's what he wants

You'd have to get around me first lol

Chris Kaman signed a 2yr/10m deal with the Trail Blazers, who now have 4/5 centers on their roster.

    Cool f'ing story brah.

IMO, Lebron wanted to see what the Heat could do initially. But no free agent has expressed a whole lot of interest in going there, and it sounds like Bosh wants a whole lot more money than he should get. So now his agent is arranging meetings with the Suns, Mavs, Cavs, etc. He, Carmelo, Gasol, and to a lesser extent Bosh seem to have several possible teams. I think they're all waiting for someone to make the first move, then they'll go from there.

Looks like Houston will be going after bosh if they don't get melo. Offering bosh the max. Miami will be god awful this year if lebron and bosh leave. And who holds miami's first rd pick? The Cavs. lol

Jeezzus, wonder what other moves that would enable them to make.

What, you mean the allure of playing with a Top 25 star isn't enough to keep things together there?

It's top 10 protected, so hopefully they aren't too awful.

I think I saw it would leave like 8-9 mil plus the MLE or whatever.

Which they would use on Pau(MLE) and then half of that other 8-9 to Swaggy P.

I'm not closely following this stuff but am going back and forth a bit on twitter with a buddy who plays in college. He could not believe Pau Gasol would consider taking $10 million less a year to maybe go to the Thunder. I just told him he's made $133,000,000 for his career and already played 13 seasons....He just wants to win another at the end of his career and he has plenty for he lavish lifestyle.

Also realized that he's averaged as much $ per game over his career than I make in 3 years. Lol and also I would only have to teach for 2,700 years to reach what he's already made in his career.

I think Pau also has a steady stream of income back in Spain from endorsements and what not. Going ring chasing at this point in his career is fine by me. Also, anything to get Kendrick Perkins off the floor.

Hawes to the Clips for 4y/23m.

Effectively ending their chase of LBJ.

Cleveland has replaced Miami as my frontrunner to land LeBron James...
  • wildcats20
Melo has officially turned down the Bulls offer.
  • Laley23
I think Bosh accepts this Houston deal, which would mean Miami will have its hands full to keep LeBron.
