I don't care what he did last year, especially when there are at least 2-3 other players who can play his position and are actually productive at the plate. The team needs to win games both now and at the end of the season. its not like a win later in the year counts as 2 wins. every game matters. 2 more wins last year at the beginning of the season when they were slumping would have meant a real playoff spot.
The guy is going through the worst start to a season in his career and perhaps the worst slump of his young career. The worst thing you can do is not let him hit. Maybe move him down in the order to take the pressure off but the guy need at bats to break out. Sitting on the bench will only make it worse. He is too important to the team long-term to not give him ample time.

Jhonny Peralta did the same thing every year. The guy was hot garbage in April and May and then by June and July when the weather heated up, you couldn't get the guy out.

I've got no problem with playing Santana, and I gotta believe he'll come out of it. That said...for the good of the team, you have to move him down in the order.

Heading up tonight, taking the parka and gloves.

He can get all the AB's he needs on Cbus ;)

Unless he's injured he's one of those untouchables though. We seem to have a lot of those.

Have faith, Goon. Get the glittery Wahoo ready.

Bring us home a victory. I've got tix tonite but probably going to take advantage of our season ticket holder option to trade in a missed game. I've been to 4 cold weather games already this year.

    Too many.

Worst defensive team in the majors.

    A total joke.

    Bar none...pathetic.

They aren't very good that's for sure.

    Masty looking nasty!

Its unreal how many bad errors are made.

Its one thing to overthrow someone trying to get a guy at home, or when you have to make a quick relay on a DP or a quick throw after a diving catch.

But the Tribe is just butchering routine plays and simply dropping balls in the glove.

Then, on top of it, they arent making the "tough" plays that arent errors. Like Bourns diving try the other night or the one against the wall. Those plays arent errors, but they gotta be made.
  • Con_Alma
On a better note, Bourn got a triple tonight. :)

Of all the things the Indians have done poorly this series, that might have topped them all by KC.
  • Con_Alma
    3-3 going into the 7th.

Very true. That was fucking ugly lol
  • Con_Alma
Some gap shots tonight!!!! 4-3 Indians off of Kipnis' double
  • Laley23
Love the aggression on the base paths this year, but how come Bourn is the one who sucks at it? lol. The guy stole like 200 bases in 2.5 years in Houston...has about 30 with us so far.
  • Con_Alma
I like aggressive base running also. Another thing I would like to see more of is efforts to create opportunities like KC seems to with their hit and run calls and straight stolen base attempts. They always seem to be putting pressure on the defense.
  • Laley23
That is what I am liking this year. Not sure, but I would guess the Tribe is leading or very close to leading the league in SB. It seems Tito might have regrets about not utilizing all the speed he had last year, and is making up for it this year. Despite losing their fastest player, Stubbs, the team is still very fast all around, including the bench.
  • Con_Alma
    Nice bunt......
  • Con_Alma
Found a hole in the D. 5-3 Indians.
  • Laley23
Lonnie has been red hot to start the year, yet his first RBI comes on a bloop the other way. lol, I love baseball sometimes.
  • Con_Alma
    Bourn....sigh.
