Considering how well Tony Plush had been playing I see no reason why they didn't send Bourn to do a longer rehab stint.

For an offense that hardly lights the world on fire, we can't be benching a guy that was so hot so that Bourn can play his way into shape.

I like whoever suggested that Chis should stay in the line-up until he cools off, even if it means playing against lefties.

We can't send him to the pine for Santana' s non-existent bat just because Santana makes more money so we have to play him.

This team needs to be playing the guys who are contributing with no regard to what their contract is. If that means Chis and Plush while Bourn and Santana refuse to produce enough to be worth playing than so be it.

Santana needs to take the same approach.
The thing I don't get about Santana is he either swings wildly at everything trying to knock one out of the park or he gets walked. He has already been walked 17 times.

For all your doom and gloom posts you make on here, that was one I agree with.

It's still only 20 games in. No need to rush to bench guys.

Nice to see Giambi back. He is good to have around the clubhouse. Anyone think that Giambi will eventually transition to a position coach with Cleveland?

I have to disagree with you guys on this one. If this team is going to contend this year and the coming years, Santana has to be a part of that. The guy hit .268 last year and has knocked in 70 or more the last 3 seasons. He has also walked over 90 times each of the last 3 years and already has 17 this year. Yes, he is in a slump but he isn't going to break out of it sitting on the bench. It is freaking April and you guys are giving up on Carlos already? If he is batting .145 in July we can talk then. But guys have bad 15-20 game stretches all the time. It just looks worse when it is at the beginning of the season.

Lets get a win on Tito's birthday!!

Chisenhall, who I wanted to stay up higher in the order, has a chance to deliver nonetheless in the B2 with runners on the corners and 2 outs. Gomes with a K, to further frustrate the fan case, as the Tribe just cant get runners in from 3rd and less then 2 outs.

Is there a reason why Con insists on posting in the blue jays/tribe thread?
  • Con_Alma
No reason other than screwing up and clicking on the wrong thread.

    Thanks for pointing it out.

He is confused, is my guess. Bourn is 2/2 with the Tribes RBI, so his head is likely spinning. :D
  • Con_Alma
...spinning with joy. I even congratulated him ...in the wrong thread :)

lol I thought you were trying to make some point about Bourn by posting in that thread.

Well, I was spewing about Bourn but being in the wrong thread certainly wasn't intentional. ...just not paying attention is all.

2nd time through the line-up here for Salazar. Hasnt fared well in his career.
  • Con_Alma
Wow...hes getting the high strike too.
  • Con_Alma
Good 3 innings for him. If he can go 6 like that tonight I'll be pleased.
  • Tigerfan00
Very good for Salazar through 3.
  • Con_Alma
    uh oh
  • Laley23
Salazar has gone like 90% fastballs so far it seems. Probably gonna have to change that with the Royals heart of the order seeing him for a second time.
  • Laley23
    As I was typing that...
  • Con_Alma
Im not sure hes very consistent getting that breaking ball over the plate. that fastball location is everything for him.

While true, his fastball ISNT consistently placed well enough to get by with it. Off-speed needs to be mixed in just so the hitters cant time it up.

David Price is about the only elite pitcher who can get away with 90% fastballs for a whole start. His fastball is that good.
  • Con_Alma
breaking ball gets him. Hes got to throw that slider when hes ahead in the count.
  • Tigerfan00
Every game he always lets up a big inning.

Hes not consistent with anything. His location is why he pitched well in the first 3. He was relatively "consistent" hitting his spots.
