Very true. But I'm sure that doesn't matter to ESPN when they decide to pretend they're the authority on things like this.

I like Seattle and their fanbase. Although prior to their '05 SB run, I don't remember hearing much about them.

Same with the Sounders. Their fans really get up for those matches.

True. They seem to think that 24 hours of Roger Clemens, Lance Armstrong, Lebron James & Johnny Manziel is what everybody "wants' so they ARE the authority on these things. :(

Well, I guess I will be the one who says it. I don't care if you say I am biased, but Browns fans are EASILY in the top 5. If the Browns had half the success in the past 10 years of those top 5 teams, this would be a no brainer for the dipshits who ran the list. Our team was taken away from us and was gone for four years. Since returning we have seen ONE playoff win. Despite all that, every game is still sold out. We have a fucking Browns Backers club in Sri Lanka, and at one time had one in Kuwait. The Browns backers bar in DC gets over 200 people, and we still get about 150 toward the end of the season when we are looking at 5 wins. Whenever you cross paths with a browns fan in another city, it's not the usual hoo rah rah shit. We normally end up in a conversation. Most fan bases don't have that. Not to mention in all of this is a 30 for 30 is being done on BROWNS FANS. How many fucking documentaries are being done for other fan bases? My top 5 in no particular order would be the Browns, Eagles, Chiefs, Bills, and Packers. As for the rest of the top 5 that was on the list:

Broncos: Don't really have a gripe with them, just they aren't in my top 5.

Saints: L O L. These fans were non existent before Katrina. After Katrina they had the one season of being "united" for their city, then the following season they were gifted Drew Brees and the rest is history. Their owner was about to move their team because he couldn't fill seats. Once Brees is gone, they will go back to being shitty fans.

Patriots: As I said before, they wouldn't be able to tell you Drew Bledsoe is the one who led the team to win the 2002 AFC title. This is another team that once they lose their HOF QB and come back to earth for a couple years, their fans will disappear. Kraft talked about how his games were blacked out all the time before Brady arrived. Not to mention most Patriots fans are severely lacking in the knowledge of the game outside of the basics and star players. "Derp Tom Brady" is the most you can get out of them. When was the last time you heard anyone say "the new england region is a hot bed for football," in the last 30 years? Exactly, Pats fans are shitty and can GFT.

Ravens: They can GFT as well. I lived in the national capital region when they won their first SB. Prior to that they were the little brothers of the redskins and were always in their shadow. All of a sudden they win a SB, and everyone is jumping their nuts. "DERP DEFENSE! DERP RAY LEWIS!" Now you just have a bunch of jock chasing dip shits who would get on their knees in a heart break for a murderer thug.

Steelers: Not in the top 5, but LOL at anyone who says they are top 5. The last two years were their first .500 seasons (note: not an abysmal 4 to 5 win season) and all of a sudden their attendance drops. If that is not a pure sign of bandwagons and a fair weather fan base, then I don't know what is. DOn't give me this shit about "blah blah they travel well!" Yeah, all those redneck yinzers can afford to fly to the west coast to "take over" stadiums /sarcasm. No dipshit those are called bandwagon fans who wanted to be part of a winning brand so they hopped on the Steelers bandwagon. They have absolutely ZERO connection to the city of Pittsburgh, and most likely never even been in the state of PA let alone in Pittsburgh. Pittspuke fans are spoiled mentally weak little shits. Two .500 seasons and they already want to give up? LOL. I can't imagine what will happen if they don't make the playoffs for a third straight year.

tl;dr: Browns are easily top 5, pittsburgh fans can go fuck themselves.

That's one hell of a write up!

Thinking of that BS list, I don't know a single Pats fan...not one.
  • Heretic
I do get a bit of a chuckle from the "Browns are great because they have fan clubs around the world but Steeler fans around the world are just bandwagoners" part, but do agree with a lot of LT's list.

I know two. Neither has any relation to Boston. One is a fan of all four Boston sports and I think has evidence that he's been one since he was a kid. The other is a fan of the Lakers, Pats, Blackhawks, Yankees, and Florida Gators.

1 playoff game, 0 playoff wins.

4 total playoff wins in the Super Bowl era.

    Asshole lol

    I'd go...

    1. Packers
    2. Chiefs
    3. Broncos
    4. Browns
    5. Eagles
    6. Vikings
    7. Bills

But I do agree with a lot of your post.

    How about bottom 5?

    1. Rams
    2. Redskins
    3. Bengals
    4. Colts
    5. Patriots
  • GOONx19
    Jags are the worst.
  • GOONx19
But I don't really blame them.

Bengals are top 5, come on man.

I would say Browns are a Top 5 one as well, but easily the trashiest by a very wide margin. Lions have good fan support but it's a baseball town and they've been so bad for so long

Terry_Tate;1646525 wrote:Bengals are top 5, come on man.
Lol....I can't think of one thing that would make me agree with that. I teach 40 miles from Cincy and those Bengals fans are just terrible. Fucking Who Dey. A lot of them don't even watch the games and just have no intelligence about the rest of the league. They get so damn excited when they are going well but cannot ever give credit when the other team is better. Yeah every fan base has those but just the general lack of football knowledge/NFL awareness and history....just awful.

Not speaking of anyone on here.
  • GOONx19
When the Bengals can make it through a season without a blackout let's talk.

My comment was just meant to make people lol, not offer an actual response. Don't really know any other fanbases well so not sure if we're bottom 5 but for damn sure I wouldn't put the Bengals in the top 15 at least.

    Browns are top 10.

    1. Packers
    2. Broncos
    3. Chiefs
    4. Eagles
    5. Steelers

    * I think two through five could all swap places.

Detroit is a whatever pro sport is best town. A definite nominee for bandwagon capital of the country.

What I found comical is that the Colts come in at #6 on that list of top 10 fan bases. Their fans are HORRIBLE. Not quite as bad as Jags fans but that place is like a morgue. Whoever did this survey was a friggin idiot.

I find many many Colts fans that are very cheery when the Broncos are doing well??? Lol
