It was bad, but right now the trich pick looks just as bad.

I disagree. At least we got another first out of the TRich pick, even if we had to wait for 2 seasons.

I am just referring to the actual pick...not the fleecing of the following regime

So we pick a bum player, waste a 3rd round pick to do so, and in exchange get a 25th pick 2 yrs from now? That's shitty anyway you look at it. I'm glad we have a 1st but I'd much rather have a do over on that.

I agree completely. I'm just saying, the Weeden pick was worse because we're not getting ANYTHING out of it other than pain and agony.

There is NO ONE worth 3 firsts and a second or whatever the deal was. If you do your due diligence, 3 firsts and a 2nd are 4 starters. No single player can make up for 4 players. Not to mention, it's a COLLEGE kid. Those kids have proven nothing yet. I think the Browns have been smart in stockpiling picks instead of trading them all away for anything but a sure thing. Now, we can't pull the same crap previous regimes and the Cavs did an blow our picks. Whatever has been done in the past as far as draft prep, I would double it heading into this draft. With the amount of picks we have, if we hit on a large majority of them, we could be sitting in playoff contention next season.
Remember when the low life said tried to remind us in every game thread how dumb the browns were for not making that deal? LOL.

Weeden is 10x worse than the t rich pick. At least we had some damage control with t rich. Not many franchises can say they royally fucked up their first round pick and they got another first for it. Hell, if the colts played in a better division we are looking at a pick in the 15-20 range IMO.

Too bad for Rams fans they keep blowing picks on terrible offensive players. Austin Pettis, Greg Salas, Lance Kendricks, Brian Quick and Isaiah Pead in the first 4 rounds in 2011 and 2012. Then spent picks on Tavon and Stedman Bailey in the first and third round this past draft, and somehow they still need to upgrade at receiver.

I think Austin will be pretty good, but yea, they have missed quite a bit. St. Louis is in a tough spot. Do they roll with Bradford or look for that franchise guy?

I'd think they have to go after another Tackle, seeing as Jake Long can't stay healthy. But the one player I think its safe to say is off the board for them is Clowney.

I wouldn't take another QB this high if I'm them. Bridgewater lost a lot of his luster this season in my eyes, and I'm not a believer in Derek Carr, or Blake Bortles.

But at the same time, they sit in a good spot to trade down if some team falls in love with one of the above QB's.

I'm with you on the QB's this year...I don't see one that I really like. If I had to choose, I'd take Bortles though.

I'm a fan of Mariota if he comes out, and if he's smart he does, too much to risk going back to school.

I wouldn't take Mariota in the first 2 rounds.

Aren't 21-32 contingent on playoff finish, or was that rule eliminated? I know the Ravens picked 32nd this year.

They are, which is why they all have asterisks I'm guessing.

Number 4 is pretty damn good considering only one 4-12 team picks ahead of them. But didnt Jax beat the Browns? I guess head to head doesnt play a roll here.
  • wes_mantooth
I was listening to Vic on the radio the other day and he was talking about the QBs that the Browns have scouted. He didn't once mention Bridgewater. I wonder if that is because it is assumed that he will go #1? Or do they like Carr, Bortles and Manziel better? Also, I really wonder if the Rams will be looking to trade that #2 pick...seems like it could be in high demand.

Strength of schedule is first tie breaker for draft order.

Obviously the Browns are doing a lot better not making that pick.

Actually the Redskins may be worse than the Browns right now but it's not all rg3's fault either.

Not to troll just asking and didn't want to start a new thread.

Who do you all want as the next Browns coach? I didn't expect chud to be fired.

    Anyone want Lovie Smith?

You think the browns would have been better off making that trade? Please say yes, so you can further prove your lack of knowledge.

Nope. I'll just say we don't know.
I am sticking with being optimistic and that rg3 will get back to being a top tier qb. You can laugh at me for that I suppose.

Sure I wish the Browns would have gotten rg3 but no way to say with certainty they'd be better with him.

Who gives a shit what Said has to say. Ignore that idiot and get back to the browns.
