Manziel will start over the undrafted free agent from Michigan State who has a whopping 2 NFL starts under his belt. The future is now.

Not period. If Manziel beats him out, he'll start. If your point is that you think Hoyer is good enough to hold off on losing the QB competition to Manziel right now, then I agree. If that's not your point, I'm not sure what is: that JFF should sit no matter what (barring injury)?

The best QB will start. I don't really give a fuck who that is. Just put out a good, quality QB and I'll be happy.

I haven't seen enough of Hoyer to know whether he can, or can't, hold off JFF. His history shows he's a journeyman, run of the mill, QB. Could he be a late bloomer? Possibly, but unlikely. He was much better than anything on the roster last year but that's not saying much.

He may have more experience than Manziel but we all must keep in mind that Hoyer, besides being the veteran, doesn't really have an advantage in this competition. They are both learning a new system from square one.

Unless Hoyer clearly beats him out I think Manziel is the starter, week 1, simply for the dynamic he brings on offense.

Avatar wager, providing they both stay healthy throughout the process?

Don't undersell the importance of having played in the NFL for a few years. To me that's a big advantage, at least when it comes to a QB competition. This was Hoyer's team last year, which distinguishes the situation somewhat from the Flynn (just brought in during FA)/Wilson one.

Why so quick to deem Hoyer as the man?

He started 3 games, went out on the 4th? "His team?"
  • Footwedge
The same type nimrods were calling for Wayne Kirby to start in front of Manny Ramirez back in 1995...(or was it 1994?)

Doesn't matter if it's division 18 or worse. 25 picks is unreal. Seems to me this guy needs to play more than just nickel/dime packages. I can dream that this guy will be a Larry Wilson or Willie Wood type free safety. Can't be that hard to learn the safety position.
Just to add on here. Gilbert started for 4 years and had 12 picks. Haden played 3 years at Florida and had 8 picks. DesIr might be another steal in this year's draft.

I'm also hopeful that Travis Benjamin returns to form and is healthy. Losing him, Hoyer and Dion Lewis was a cruel blow and sealed Chud's fate. Benjamin could be a stud this year....at least he will be given the opportunity to be one.

No ones really deeming him the man, but the city had a lot of excitement when he became the starter last year. He was really good. We were winning. Then he got hurt and the air was popped.

I mean what I said--if both QB's stay healthy, Hoyer will be the starter in the opener. Period.

Chud not being a very good head coach sealed chuds fate.

I hope our coaches don't think like you do.

That's an absolute retarded philosophy to have.

I agree completely. It was night and day compared to Weeden, but would just be hesitant to say "his team."

I'm just doubtful he'll be playing at the same level from before he was hurt. That injury isn't easy to come back on.

Coaching staff needs to just play who is better. Period. The days of age mattering in the NFL is done with. Play the better QB and keep the backup happy and ready to play at any given time.

The guy can't go 6 minutes without pulling a hammy or hurting himself.

At least we signed Miles Austin so he has someone to hang out with on IR all season while they rehab their numerous injuries.

Then you have absolutely no idea what I'm saying. If both QB's stay healthy, and Hoyer is the starter, then just wtf do you think that means? It means he beat Manziel out. Period.

My bad I see what you meant now. I took it as hoyer should be the starter if both are healthy...no matter what.

I think manziel could very easily beat out hoyer for the starting job. I hope he does, because that would more than likely mean he's pretty damn good (since I think hoyer is good)

Never said Chud was great. But Vince Lombardi would not have won with last year's team. Those 3 injuries sealed Chud's fate.

Benjamin was pretty healthy his rookie season. He's very explosive and this team is gonna need him.

    I agree, it's a win-win either way.

Benjamin is nothing more than a returner (and a darn good one). I wont expect to see much contribution at WR because he just isn't that good.

I interpreted what you said the same way S&L did. But yeah I'm on the same page on you guys. I'll be happy whoever wins the job as long as they won it meritoriously.
