2013/14 NBA season chatter - let the LBJ hating begin!

KB0938Lebron on the All defensive team again...somehow. At least its not first team this time. Must be all that time he spent this year guarding the opposing teams like 4th option
Also LOL at James Harden receiving votes -
wildcats20Bron is a phenomenal off the ball defensive player. One of the best, if not the best, in the League. His ON BALL defense is another story.
-
sportchamppsI got to agree that I would take this era over the post Jordan years. Allen I. And the 76ers were fun to watch but shouldn't have been close to winning a finals. The league is just more PG and Wing driven then ever before. There's almost no inside out game in the NBA these days. If Shaquille was in his prime during this era he would abuse today's centers.
-
sportchamppsBTW could you picture Hibbert trying to deal with Shaq

I can agree with his off ball being very good. But lots of times off ball defenders take lots and lots of gambles for steals and blocks ect and leave their man wide open.wildcats20;1622262 wrote:Bron is a phenomenal off the ball defensive player. He is good when he wants/needs to be. Has shut down key players in key moments. His versatility is what makes his special on that end.wildcats20;1622262 wrote:Bron is a phenomenal off the ball defensive player. One of the best, if not the best, in the League. His ON BALL defense is another story. -

Which Hibbert? First half of the season where he GAF? Or second half where he was a vagina?sportchampps;1622266 wrote:BTW could you picture Hibbert trying to deal with Shaq -

Both would yield the same resultfriendfromlowry;1622413 wrote:Which Hibbert? First half of the season where he GAF? Or second half where he was a vagina? -

Exactly. His off ball is good because of his extremely high basketball IQ and his on ball can be either weak or fantastic, for the few possessions when it matters and he's dialed in.
Second team defense sounds about right. First team talent but with the effort of someone not deserving neither first nor second. -

I couldn't disagree more. Just because it's not a center oriented inside-out doesn't mean there's no inside-out basketball. If you don't notice it, then you're not that intelligent of an observer.sportchampps;1622265 wrote: There's almost no inside out game in the NBA these days. -
sportchamppsI guess I should have said center driven Inside-outside game. There are plenty of guys who drive and kick it out.

The Bulls, Spurs, and Grizzlies offenses all thrive because of their big men. Just because offenses have evolved from "dump it to the big man and have him score or pass out" doesn't mean big men aren't still valuable. Teams now just adapt to their personnel.sportchampps;1622443 wrote:I guess I should have said center driven Inside-outside game. There are plenty of guys who drive and kick it out.
Why do the Heat have such a good offense? Because the players they use in the post are among the best at their position at doing so (Lebron and Wade).
So the inside-out is alive and well, it just looks different with different teams. And yes, I understand and agree with your point, that the utterly dominant center oriented inside-out offense is probably dead. -

This was a surprisingly entertaining read about how the NBA would end, using a video game simulation, if every incoming player had the game's absolute worst stats. The best part was how the real-life trainwreck Knicks were a trainwreck in the game, too, being the first team to start relying on all the crap players. -
lhslep134NBA released their All-NBA teams
1st: LBJ, Durant, Noah, Harden, CP3
2nd: Griffin, Love, Howard, Curry, Parker
3rd: George, Aldridge, Jefferson, Dragic, Lillard
That's funny, I don't see the person Pick6 thinks is the best PG in the league, RW, but I see 5 others. -

robj55I don't remember saying RW is the best PG in the league, I said he is more important to OKC and makes more impactful plays on both ends than KD does. Dragic, Lillard and Curry over RW? No way.

That was Pick6, and that was a fun conversation to read on here, haha.lhslep134;1622518 wrote:NBA released their All-NBA teams

Shit Rob so sorry! You can neg me. I mis-remembered what you said vs Pick 6 saying RW was the best ("hands down"). I'll edit my post. -
lhslep134
Agreed. I don't think you should be on the 1st team if you don't play a lick of defense. At least Durant improved a little on that side of the ball this year, indicating effort.sleeper;1622573 wrote:LOL @ Harden. -

I think it was because RW missed so much time that voters didn't put him in. He's absolutely deserving talent-wise.robj55;1622571 wrote: Dragic, Lillard and Curry over RW? No way. -

SportsAndLadyCan't believe okc traded away a first team nba player for practically nothing.
