Smiling, and laughing all the way to the bank, with that big paycheck they get.

I don't want the Spurs to miss out on the finals because they're boring, I want them to miss out because they've been there how many times over the past 15 years? Anyone else, please.

Also, I'm a little late to the Bill Simmons discussion, but add me to the list who can't stand him. I use to love reading his stuff, especially his draft diaries. But his liking/disliking for teams is annoying.
  • bigdaddy2003
Either way you get a team that has been there in the west so I'd rather it be the Spurs. They are just a great team. I don't find them boring like I once did. Oh and lol at the people in the media acting like Ibaka being out is making this big of a difference. He wasnt playing that good in the playoffs and they lost by 35. The Thunder just don't have enough outside of Durant and Westbrook. Also I have little pity for them since they continue to waste their 5 playing time on Perkins. He is very overrated.

Something interesting I read on twitter, the Spurs have the highest pace of any team left, Miami by far the slowest.

    Another anti-Cleveland lottery article: http://nba.si.com/2014/05/21/2014-nba-draft-lottery-winners-and-losers-cleveland-cavaliers-bucks-sixers-andrew-wiggins-jabari-parker-joel-embiid/

    Here's the part I don't get:
These guys, again? Really? The universe is really going to gift them the No. 1 pick after they:— Shocked the world for no good reason with the Anthony Bennett pick
    — Signed, suspended and dumped Andrew Bynum
    — Fired Grant and coach Mike Brown
    — Traded assets for Deng without a postseason appearance to show for it
    — Created an environment where Irving, one of the biggest can’t-miss stars of recent years, flat-lined rather than blossomed
    — Failed, spectacularly, to live up to their own super-high, self-imposed expectations as reports of locker room turmoil surfaced.
    Why?
Good point. Let's give it to the 76ers who lost 26 fucking games in a row. Or the Bucks, who were somehow worse than that. Let's reward teams that literally tanked the second half of the season trying to land the top pick vs the team that was still at least in playoff contention the last week of the season.

How many other teams took a chance on Bynum? How many other teams fired their coach? LOL at criticizing the Cavs because Deng didn't carry them to the playoffs. I missed the super-high expectations I guess. I think most of us on here were thinking they could be a 6-8 seed.

The butthurt from the media is just comical. I didn't see anyone QQing when the bills won the lottery for rose. They can go fuck themselves.

    SVP/Rusillo are spot on:

Its not a conspiracy like everyone hates Cleveland, had this been any other team winning the lottery 3x in 4 years without being dead last any of the years and having damn near ZERO chance 2 of thpse years ....this board would be bitching about it too. It just happened to be the hometown team so obviously it goes over well here

Saw something online today that Bennett was only the 5th #1 on the past 26 years to not make an all Rookie team. Wonder if he ever develops
  • Pick6
I personally hate the lottery, but the Cavs won so I'll take it.

    Too early to say.

What's there to bitch about? I personally don't know how they could make it any more random and advantageous to the teams with the worst record. I'm happy anyone else but the 76ers got it. They'll still get a great player, but it's a middle finger to them regardless for tanking the last few months.

There's always something to bitch about. For example the complaining about everyone being against Cleveland bc many are amazed/disappointed they got 3/4 #1's.

I personally like the NFLs way of draft order, but this lottery usually works out decent. Just amazing Cleveland lucked out 3 years with a 1.7 a 2.8 and a 14/15% respectively lol

I just don't understand the article that I posted earlier, where the author blatantly states the Cavs don't deserve the pick because they missed the playoffs again, fired their coach, Bennet hasn't panned out so far, Kyrie is supposedly upset, etc. Meanwhile, the 76ers were a disgrace all season but they're more deserving? The Bucks were somehow a bigger disgrace but they're more deserving? The Pistons dismissed their coach and so did the Lakers but they're more deserving?
I'm not even that big of a Cavs fan and can recognize how media members are whining.
There's no excuse for Simmons to be doing it, either. He's quickly rising to the top of ESPN and shouldn't be allowed to bitch and moan about it as much as he has. WE GET IT. You don't like the Cavs. Sorry the Celtics didn't win it for you.

Again, bitch about the lottery system (which I am not a fan of), and not the cavs. Sorry we are not sorry for getting lucky lolfail.

This is what I don't understand

City is fucking cursed, haven't won a championship in 50 years, but have some of the best fans, yet we don't deserve some luck on our side? Dumbass espn.

I would definitely take him over Gentry. That's the rumor I'm terrified by.

Sterling is(more than likely, giving up his fight.

He is allowing his wife to negotiate a forced sale of the Clippers.

Winning the lottery is not part of espn's somber iqqesque agenda.

I understand they have good fans and its nice to be a fan of a team who has this luck I guess youd call it happen to them. But you're telling me that if someone like Boston or somebody else had 3/4 #1s without being in last place, this forum/sports news sources wouldnt be full of posts talking about how this is unheard of? Thats all I'm saying. Its not because its Cleveland, its because this is unprecedented and the lottery system is showing its flaws

Yeah, the biggest difference there is we are not the national media (I can't imagine what some local big markets are saying). We are a group of fans posting on a forum...

A lot of us cavs fans on here have already said we are not fans of the lottery system. People in Boston can go fuck themselves. As I said earlier, they were already gift wrapped a bullshit KG trade that won them a title (same with LA fans an Gasol). I don't want to hear about their "misfortunes."
