2013/14 NBA season chatter - let the LBJ hating begin!

• Commander of Awesome
"The conversation was 'Who do I like?' '' James said. "Who were my three? Who were my favorite three of all time?' No one knows who's the greatest three players of all time. It's impossible. No one can say who's the best three of all time. You're going to have Jordan there for sure. But after that, you can have Bird, Magic, Kareem, Wilt, Bill Russell, Oscar, Jerry West, Dr. J. You might even throw LeBron in there, maybe.''

Obvious douche is obvious.

Who are your top 3/5 teams in each division?

East:
1. Failami
2. Indiana
3. Bulls

Don't have a clear #4 or #5 after this, as I don't think any of the remaining teams in the east are all that good. I could make an arguement for the Cavs at #4, not a believer in the Knicks AT ALL. They got worse in my opinion, wouldn't be shocked to see them squeak into the playoffs. Nets don't excite me much either. East is bad again.

West:
1.OKC
2. Spurs (until proven otherwise)
3. Grizz
4. Clipps
5. Houston

"I think the first thing I thought was 'wow, Ray got killed for leaving Boston and now these guys are leaving Boston,'" James said.

"I think it's OK, I didn't mind it. But there were a couple guys who basically (expletive) on Ray for leaving and now they're leaving. That's the nature of our business, man. I don't know what Boston was going through at the end of the day. I know Ray had to make the best decision for him and his family and his career. Doc, KG and Paul did that as well. You can't criticize someone who does something that's best for their family."

James is sticking up for his teammate and taking a shot at some old Boston rivals in the process. But he's obviously sensitive on this topic because of personal experience. He was roundly criticized, of course, for leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010.
"I can relate to that, you think so? I'm the No. 1 relator," James said. "I've been through it all, I know all about it."
Lol, THE NO. 1 RELATOR has spoken.

As you said. Obvious douche is obvious.

Jordan would be #3 on my all-time listed behind Lebron and Shaq.

To the thread topic, Miami is going to win it all again this year unless Wade or Bosh continue their downward spiral. Spurs and OKC will continue to dominate but I could see the Clipps making a run. Houston has no chance of winning anything even with pairing Howard with Parsons and Lin. Howard isn't a winner, period.

In the East, the only team that I would put on the same level as Miami is Indiana. I think the Cavs are also a playoff team that could garner as high as a 5 seed depending on how Bennett plays in the league(I think he's going to be a star).

Honestly I don't think the 4th seed is out of the question for the Cavs. Not likely but I wouldn't be shocked.

Miami 3peats, but I'm hoping the Grizz do well in the West. I want to see that finals matchup.

Actually on second thought, Rose is terrible and a little bitch. Maybe Cleveland could grab that spot after all.
• Commander of Awesome
I'm not a big believer in the Nets team either. DWill is a bitch who has a bad shot selection. Pretty much every player on that team is overrated and old.

Agreed with pretty much everything except that the East is bad, I don't think that could be further from the truth.

Outside of the Heat, I think the West has at least 4 maybe 6 teams better than any other team in the East. And if you wanted to argue that the Spurs/OKC are better than the Heat I'd think you had a case.

OKC can't beat Miami, not disciplined enough and their style plays right into the Heats hands. SA, Indy, Chicago and Memphis are the teams that have a shot at knocking off Miami imo.

Hard to say with Westbrook going down last season.

They don't dominate the paint and they can't control tempo, two things you have to do to beat Miami.

Only team that can beat Miami is the Spurs. OKC has no chance, with or without Westbrook.

And Indiana in the East.
• like_that
I think Indiana takes the first seed this year, and knocks out the heat this time around. They should have eliminated the heat in 6 last year.
• SportsAndLady
Not too sure about the west but I the east I'll go

Miami

Chicago

Indiana

Brooklyn

Cleveland

NY

Washington

Boston

This is a definite possibility, a lot is going to depend on the health of Wade. I think the thing that will hold Indiana back is the lack of PG productivity and the fact that they turn the ball over too much.

I'm with you on Washington, think they are going to be pretty good this year, played really well down the stretch last year when Wall got healthy.

I'm glad no one here is dumb enough to be high on Detroit. My god they break fg% records (In a bad way)

I thought about them at the 8th seed because I love their front court, but Brandon Jennings running the team doesn't do it for me. I went with Toronto kind of by default.
• Commander of Awesome
Bleh I don't like toronto's team at all. Going to be rough to watch a lot of East basketball this season.

I think they have a pretty decent lineup, going to come down to how good they are defensively. Valanciunas can play. I've always liked Kyle Lowry's game and they improved the bench.
• Commander of Awesome
Yeah they have some decent players, I like Val's potential and he played well in the euros this summer, but inconsistent from what I read. Lowry, might be a worse defender than Kyrie and can't healthy. Love him when he plays, which isn't often. Ross, potential doesn't bring it every game, Gay I like but the advanced stats paint him to be pretty horrible. His shot selection is sketchy and a bigger name than production. Eh a team of a bunch of nice complimentary pieces but no studs. I expect them to be a 35 win team.
