Efficient pitching....much more efficient than Ubaldo.

I hope Perez is unavailable again tonight.

Hasn't Perez saved 12 out of his last 13? If this team wants to make the playoffs they need a a confident, effective Perez at the back end of the bully.

At 60 pitches through 5, I hope they don't need hi at all.

It was tongue in cheek really.

PErez is one of the better closers in baseball. Just sucks his blow-ups are at the absolute worst of times.

It does seem that way. ...maybe because we tend to dwell on those big moment blown saves. I guess there's never really a good time to have a blown save.

Yeah he imploded in the biggest game of the season. A game that really could have put the pressure on detroit.

It just more than usual seems to be versus teams we need to beat. Its never the fucking Astros or Twins or anything. I mean, the odds are greater versus the better teams and I get that. But he always blows them versus the teams we are fighting for the playoffs with.

Maybe 20k here tonite including several thousand kitty fans ...smh

It does seem that way but we also don't know how well anyone else in the pen would fair in all of those situations. We easily forget the ones he saves.

I know. Like I said, he is easily one of the better closers in baseball. Easily the best we have had, imo, since the 90s (Mesa/Jackson). I just wish we had a strikeout guy back there (which is why I advocate for Allen so much). A guy who can strike you out is SOOOO much more valuable for the 1/2 run saves. Lead-off guy gets on base with Perez and he is likely to score without a hit. With a K guy, those odds are much less.

Every team in baseball wants that closer. Few have him.

I don't care what happens the rest of tonight or in any of his next starts...Salazar needs to finish the season up here and get more big league experience because he could be a key piece for next season. He will probably take a lump or two but these could be a good two months for him.

Well, I am just saying we might have him in our pen. He just isnt ready yet.

Then it really doesn't matter. :(
  • Laley23
Santana did not go around there...
  • Laley23
Lol. Giambi was out if Fielder stays on the bag.
  • Laley23
    Fuck that.
  • royal_k
This just in, Salazar is legit.

Now can we get the kid a couple of runs?
  • Laley23
Damn. That was some nice pitching.

    Doubtful.
  • Laley23
    Swish BABY!
  • Laley23
Kipnis knocking him in here would be huge as well. Need that insurance with 3/4/5 coming up for Detroit in the 9th (if Salazar can go 1-2-3 in the 8th)
