I'm definitely not, because of Cruz's suspension.Dan Gilbert;1482579 wrote: Definitely concerned about the Rangers though. -

They also have a gigantic hard-on for all things Los Angeles. A couple weeks ago, I hadn't caught any baseball at night, so in the morning when a friend had his radio on and they cut in with baseball highlights from the night, I had him turn it up so I could get the Pirates-Reds score (you know, two of the better teams in baseball at the All-Star break playing a big weekend series). All they gave were the Dodgers, the Angels and as a footnote, the Red Sox-Yankees scores.TBone14;1482599 wrote:If he pitches well...it will be a good problem to have. Hopefully he pitches well, though.
Also, I was thinking ESPN would pick up this series for Monday/Wednesday night baseball. Of course, they will be in St Louis for the Dodgers/Cardinals. They do more Cardinals game than even NY or Boston I think.
Or, to be more brief, FUCK ESPN. -

I understand Cleveland's schedule is easy but the Rangers have 10 and 10 against the Angels and Astros.lhslep134;1482610 wrote:I'm definitely not, because of Cruz's suspension. -
Dan GilbertLooks like Johnny P. will be suspended 50 games, which is a good thing for Cleveland since he has hit .300+ against them this season.
Let's see if the Tigers move to get Jose will pay off to the caliber that Peralta was producing against the Tribe. -

So losing Cruz is no big deal to you?Dan Gilbert;1482622 wrote:I understand Cleveland's schedule is easy but the Rangers have 10 and 10 against the Angels and Astros. -

No. He is one player. The highest WAR of his career is 4.3. He is about on pace for that this year. Currently at 2.2. So losing Cruz will cost Texas approx 2 wins the rest of way. Could make all the difference in the world because I think the race will be close but it isn't like they are going to fall apart without him. -

As was discussed throughout this thread, ESPN thinks the Royals are the 2nd place team in the Central. They've been stuck in that mindset since the preseason and they apparently are going to ride that prediction till the end. They will either be geniuses or have egg all over their face.I was thinking ESPN would pick up this series for Monday/Wednesday night baseball -

It will cost Texas a couple games but they could easily make it up against their schedule without Cruz. They also added Garza which will help them down the stretch. I know its close but the Rangers are a good enough team to overcome the loss.
I see the Rangers as more of a threat than Baltimore or KC to catch the Tribe. -

Definitely agree on KC. I think Baltimore is as big of a threat as Texas.Dan Gilbert;1482659 wrote:

That's also assuming they have someone to fill in at replacement level and not worse than replacement level (always possible when you're talking about fill-ins).TBone14;1482651 wrote: So losing Cruz will cost Texas approx 2 wins the rest of way.
I see what you're saying though. -
TBone14Giambi batting 7th and DHing. Stubbs in right. Lonnie at 3rd.

I am with you guys. Every time I have felt this way about a big series since 2007...it has been a big disappointment. Hopefully this is the year we get over the hump. -
Laley23I am being 100% serious. Is Michael Brantley a potential GG winner this year?

Absolutely. He is damn good...I just think he lacks the flash and name recognition. It will be there some day though -
