Would a combined Reds and Indians team win the world series?

I personally think this is complete bullshit. BP unnecessarily dives for a ball last night, and you say this?

The guy makes highlight plays after highlight plays and almost NEVER messes up a routine out. Come on, Ironman..

lol, they did? Must be super-desperate for a warm body to get that old piece of shit.

Please see that BP's overall play at second base was labeled sensational. It's a very positive thing. BP plays the same way Edmonds did....Both amazing and elite at their positions, but both created a lot of dives and slides when they didn't need to.

John McDonald career defensive WAR is well above BP's (and even Gardner).....he could maybe come in for BP for defense late in the game.

How do you know he doesn't need to? Maybe he needs to to guarantee himself he makes the play. And it just seems like he doesn't to those watching?

Because when I watch the replay as I rewind and slow mo it.....the ball last night was a no doubt that he gets with his great jump and the extension of his arm....but he jumps up and grabs the ball with his arm not fully extended and lands hard causing him to not make the play......he does that maybe a dozen times a season.

Regardless.....I rate him just as high as you but he goes for the style points when it's not always needed. There are the Jeff Kents and Dan Ugglas but most 2nd baseman can really really pick it. I get to see BP 155 games a year and he gets it done big time.....but just about every 2nd baseman I've seen is pretty darn good but you will never, ever hear Thom and Chris rave about an opposing 2nd baseman's play.....and when BP makes a very good play (that I believe most second baseman make) they yell and carry on about how special he is and everything......when he makes a mistake they'll give the "well most 2nd baseman don't even get to that ball.......but the plays like the Michael Bourn play between the legs and some of his up the middle plays....he is above and beyond and those are the raving plays....but Chris and Thom put him up there ridiculously.

Even FOX Ohio pushing his career Reds 2nd baseman stats against Joe Morgan lol Joe won 2 MVP's for the Reds.....but they just mention that BP passed him on RBI....batting 4th might've helped that.

BP is a legit all-star and GG candidate every year (actually it's his to lose IMO)....and this year so far he's a top 12 MVP guy that could give it a run....but his range is not miles ahead of everyone else like they act....Cano can match his highlight stuff and Barney and Pedroia are just as good as he is defensively.

Phillips is a better run producer and defender than Morgan. Joe had great speed, a fabulous eye and was a perfect #2 hitter. They are really different players entirely. Morgan was also a full-time player by age 21, and played for 20 years. If BP puts in another half-dozen years, we're talking 250+ HR's, close to 2500 hits, half-a-dozen gold gloves and almost every Reds record for a middle infielder.

When you're up there with Joe Morgan and Barry Larkin in all of those categories, you're in consideration for the hall. Darwin Barney will be lucky to have a starting job in 3 years.

Also, I liked Jeff Kent, but look at the era he played in. Enough said.

Phillips will need 2500+ hits and 6+ GG for the HOF.....he's a bit over 1/2 way there and well within reach.....but if he winds up 2250 hits, 275 HR, 5 GG.....I say he falls just short or takes forever to get in.

I dont think players are gonna approach 40 years old with production like they used to.

    Unless of course, they cheat.

They train pretty hard...they might, but will need a team that lets them do it. Anymore players are around and productive forever and gone almost without notice.

While this isn't extreme, I'd venture that most baseball players don't train line BP.
