Raw Dawgin' it
Aside from Chara and Seidenburg our defense is overrated. I agree, if they have a lead going into the third they tend to sit on it and get caught when they make a dumb turnover or they're just plain flat footed. But I definitely think they're as good as their record, you don't go 17-4-3 and not have a solid team top to bottom. I think they need to tighten up defensive lapses late in games though. They just don't seem to have consecutive games where they are solid every period.End of Line;1405223 wrote:Thankfully I stayed awake for that game.
I might get flamed by Raw for this but oh well. Boston to me isn't as good as their record indicates. Run a 2-3 trap and have a hard time generating offense. They're a quick score team who will go up by 2 and sit on it for the rest of the game. Thoughts Raw? -
TedShecklerRealignment approved.

To keep the Islanders. Rangers, Devils, and Flyers in the same division. Especially the last three. -

Travel wise it makes no sense. But I'd rather boston not have Det and NYR in the same division. I like that 5 of the 6 original teams are in the east nowbrutus161;1405861 wrote:To keep the Islanders. Rangers, Devils, and Flyers in the same division. Especially the last three. -

I agree it doesn't make travel sense, but they probably didn't want to stick Div D with zero Original 6 teams and have 5 of them in Div C. They're bigger draws for the smaller markets. As it stands now I'd say there are two, maybe three, big draws in Div D in terms of name recognition (NYR, PIT, maybe PHI). They probably didn't want to take one of those away.Raw Dawgin' it;1405864 wrote:Travel wise it makes no sense. But I'd rather boston not have Det and NYR in the same division. Outside of Chara, Rask, Bergeron, Marchand, and Seguin no one seems to do anything. Lucic/Krejci/Horton have been invisible in the games I've seen.Raw Dawgin' it;1405539 wrote:Aside from Chara and Seidenburg our defense is overrated. Cat Food Flambe'Only the FL team see much of a travel increase, and even they are staying in the Eastern or Central time zone for almost all of their away games. Besides - in another 2-3 years, who knows where the Panthers and Lightning will be?
Jackets and Wings play one fourth of their entire schedule in the Pacific and Western time zones this year. That's a lot of ten pm starts, and just kills your local tv ratings. -
stlouiedipalmaNice win for the Pens tonight. Dupuis scores twice in the third and the Pens beat the Leafs 3-1. These guys are really picking it up with Geno out.

gorocks99Jackets head to a shootout again but win this time. That's 10 straight with points and they sit just 2 points out of the 8th spot. Bobrovsky has been outstanding as of late.
-
End of Line9 straight wins for the Pens. Take on the Bruins at 12:30 on NBC.

Gritty games. In the past 3 seasons the Pens are 7-3 against the Bruins. Their record against the Rangers is even better (2 more against NYR this year). 9-5-1. While being 7-2 against them the past two seasons.Raw Dawgin' it;1408227 wrote:i hope it's Pens/Bruins for the Conference final. They have great games. -

I think in a 7 game series the bruins have a better shot since they can physically wear them down. I can't believe the season is over in a month, feels like it just started haEnd of Line;1408600 wrote:Gritty games. In the past 3 seasons the Pens are 7-3 against the Bruins. gerb131Jackets workin these Preds over. 2-0 at Nationwide 6mins or so left in the 2nd. Lets go Jackets, lets go Jackets.
Howson executive of the year after the Bobrovsky acquirement? Even though he's obviously canned. -
gorocks994-1 Jackets now.
BOBROVSKY is truly the #1 cop on the force -
gorocks99Jackets win 4-3. No longer in the Central Division basement.
-
stlouiedipalmaPens win again, score the winner as they killed a double-minor to Cooke. As he left the penalty box he joined a 3-on-2 rush and fed Niskanen for the goal. They are playing lights-out hockey right now, more so because Letang and Malkin were scratches for tonight's game. These guys are really fun to watch again.

End of Line10 in a row for the Pens.
First NHL team in history to have 3 10+ win streaks in 3 season. -
Classyposter58Detroit just got hosed horribly. Puck bounced off Heatley's hand instead of Miller's stick, ref says high stick no goal. Then refuses to review it

Raw Dawgin' itSo Brodeur scored a goal last night...sort of ha.
