I think Weeden actually has a MUCH better year this year. I think things will click for him this year and he will go off for like 3800+ 25+ Td < 10 INT

Also, this thread has been ruined.

#Browns cut DE Frostee Rucker, the team announced. Started all 16 games last season.

Must not fit the 3-Fail defense.

Anyone catch florio talking about flacco to the browns? It was interesting...not so much that he would end up there, but that the browns are the one team that can drive up his price and handicap the ravens on salary cap issues

Smh. He was pretty serviceable in a 4-3.

Is he a restricted FA? If so that would bring the lulz, however it's pretty risky.

Ravens are going to either tender him (RFA) Sign him (most likely), Franchise him (next likely) or match whatever anyone else signs him to. None of these options end with him being in Cleveland.

That's Wes's point. If he is a RFA Cleveland can drive up his price lol.

@evansilva: #Browns quietly have impressive pieces for new 3-4. Taylor on nose, Rubin 5-tech. Winn at RE. DQwell & JMJ inside. Need OLB opposite Sheard.

Where does Foot, Fujita, Hughes, Gocong fit in this scheme? Also need 2 CBs and a starting caliber FS (plus depth at both).

yeah, it is more of a bargaining chip kind of thing for him. If they franchise him, according to Florio...he would be sitting at 20 mil. Then that is the bottom of where they can offer to sign him in a long term deal. It is just interesting that the Browns could play a factor in them having to release guys like Boldin and Kruger.

Oh I see, that would be awesome. Love to snag a guy like Kruger, had a huge sack in the SB.

I think Fujita is done, at least in Cleveland. Gocong would be a servicable backup to Mingo.

Hell I would take mingo, Moore or jones at 6

Agreed. I thought it was a really interesting take, mainly because of the Browns having a boatload of money and that Banner is supposedly a salary cap expert....so I assume he would be interested in fucking over bmore.

Should be possible, just need Gino Smith & Luke Joeckel taken ahead of them to have a good draft.

Hypothetically (won't happen), if the Browns threw a ridiculous contract at Flacco, with some kind of poison pill that the Rats couldn't match, they'd be fucked.

For as much as I believe Weeden has a chance to flourish in this offense, if they have a chance to nab Flacco, weakening a division opponent, I do it. Even if it means giving up two 1st's. Flacco isn't "elite" but he is a franchise QB with a Super Bowl ring and he fits Turner/Chud's scheme (big arm).

In the wrong system? Passes batted down because of the 3 step drop? Why...why....Pluto's an idiot !!!!

What if we are able to sign Paul Kruger or Anthony Spencer? Then assuming Sheard can make the transition, we can focus the draft on the secondary.. if Milliner is gone at six you trade down and take Rhodes or Banks. This might even be better than getting Milliner beacuse then you can take a FS with your newly acquired second round pick.

I'd take Spencer. I like Kruger, a lot, but have heard questions about him in a 3-4. I like that Ellerbe too. They (Rats) won't be able to re-sign both linebackers AND keep Flacco.

Am I misreading this? He already plays in a 3-4.

I think Baltimore plays more of a hybrid version running both 4-3 & 3-4. I read something about Kruger not being the best for a 3-4 which wouldn't make sense if they are in that set more than the 4-3.

Building off my last post.. what if we trade Sheard? He would easily bring a second round pick. Then you look at guys like Jelani Jenkins or John Simon for that pass rushing OLB.
