Official 2013 NASCAR Thread

Fuck 'em. It's Max Papis. Lord knows he's probably done something that he deserved getting slapped for.

How 'bout that #18?! Hell yea. Locked up his spot in the Chase. Richmond should be good. I don't remember this many spots being fought for heading into the final race in quite a while

    effin jr.

    stupid sob
  • said_aouita
I hope Newman punches jr in the neck if really did cause the yellow.
  • GoChiefs
Eh, didn't look like Jr did anything. Glad to see the 78 team make it.
  • GoChiefs
And fuck NASCAR for not penalizing Edwards for jumping the restart.
  • GoChiefs
Bowyer looks guilty as hell about spinning out on purpose. Thats who Newman needs to punch.

You are exactly right. Just saw the replay.

    Yeah its fishy as hell.

Menard did the same thing a few years ago at Richmond. Gordon had the race won ahead of Harvick and Menard spun out then Harvick won. They replayed the audio of Menards scanner and he switched to an alternate channel minutes before spinning out.

Just when I started to like Bowyer this happens. Freaking shady as hell and NASCAR will let it go.

I was always a Bowyer fan, as he's hilarious as hell, but last night, I lost all respect for him and Michael Waltrip Racing. Not that I had any for MWR to begin with.

Such odd radio chatter, and look at him during the interview. He can't even look at her in the eyes.

That was from Paul Menard 2 years ago. NASCAR claimed they found nothing to think he spun intentionally so if they didn't find anything there they won't do a thing to MWR.

Boyer has always been a knucklehead. Several years back when he was running the Busch series he got crashed out. During the interview he said something like "These guys are terrible drivers, I guess that's why they're in Busch". Hey dumb ass, you're in Busch too.

This spin is deserving of a real close look by NASCAR.

Michael Waltrip has always came across a little two faced. After some accident during a race the other involved driver said the same thing, Waltrip comes across nice and friendly but really is a two faced prick.

Clint followed orders but still gets negged.

I did not watch the race and not sure what happened. Can someone give me a run down? Did boyer wrecking help someone?

Newman was leading with just a handful of laps to go, probably would have won and made the Chase leaving Truex on the outside looking in. Bowyer spun out to bring out the caution. Newmans crew didn't get the job done and he lost the lead in the pits to Menard and Edwards (who should have been penalized too). Newman didn't win and Truex ended up getting the final wild card spot for the chase over Ryan.
  • GoChiefs
Also potentially cost Gordon a chase spot too because Logano gained a couple positions after the caution and he only beat Gordon by one point I believe.

To add - Pretty sure Truex gets in on a tie breaker over Newman.

I liked Newmans comments after the race calling out the team and how lousy his pit crew has been. No doubt he's pissed but I don't blame him.
  • GoChiefs
Sure, they messed up last night, but if Newman would have done his job at Phoenix, Vegas, Martinsville, 'Dega, Dover, and Loudon (finishes of 30th or worst) he wouldn't have had to worry about.

The Clint spin was one thing. Weird how him and Vickers lost so many places in the last few laps of the race causing Joey to pass Jeff in the points...allowing Truex to get the wildcard.

I believe MWR was not keeping it 'fair and square'. I've lost a lot of respect for Mikey and his teams after what went on this past weekend.

It was as bad as F1 team instructions.

Exactly. I thought the spin was fishy. Especially when Jr said on the radio, 'what you think just happened, happened'. Then Tired Arms Clint tried to say Jr got under him in the post race interview. And what was Vickers last lap speed? Just in the 70's. Yea. Let's see how Mikey explains this. Jenna Fryer has posted the audio transcripts on twitter along with a few others and it doesn't look good. The Respected NASCAR reporters think MWR was up to something dirty.

NASCAR has to look into it to save face...or next year maybe they can replace the helmets with Wrestling masks.

I lost respect for MWR after the whole rocketfuel incident.

True dat. Didn't Mikey act like the whole 'I had no idea'. Maybe he can try to play that again. It's hard to blame the drivers as they do what the bosses say...well maybe I'll FWK it and blame them for 5%...;)
