TedShecklerSounds like it's a done deal. Chapman got dibs on being the closer.

Azubuike24I'm glad he's back where he needs, but I'm really concerned about the rotation. I don't trust Leake or Arroyo and their soft-tossing at GABP.

The worst part is, this probably puts Arroyo in the 3 spot, cause Dusty isn't going to pitch him and Leake back to back.Azubuike24;1411147 wrote:I'm glad he's back where he needs, but I'm really concerned about the rotation. I don't trust Leake or Arroyo and their soft-tossing at GABP. -
jordo212000I don't love our rotation. Would love to find a way to trade somebody who makes a few million and then sign Lohse

Commander of Awesome
Really I think you guys actually have a pretty nice young rotation going. Leake and Arroyo are proven guys, Arroyo has been nothing but consistent over his time in Cincy. That plus Homer and a few other young up and coming Pitchers I think you have the makings of a nice little rotation. Lot of things to be to excited about this season.jordo212000;1411156 wrote:I don't love our rotation. Would love to find a way to trade somebody who makes a few million and then sign Lohse -

Leake had an ERA of 4.58 last season.Commander of Awesome;1411169 wrote:Leake and Arroyo are proven guys -
Azubuike24What has Leake proven other than he's hittable and average? Odds are he collapses and has to be out of the rotation before he succeeds. They need another starter to win it all...plain and simple. Maybe that doesn't come until the deadline, but it will become evident at some point. God forbid an injury...which they were so lucky to avoid last year.
-
Azubuike24Arroyo has had a year with a 4.77 and 5.07 ERA at GABP too...he's far from automatic.
-
TedShecklerCalling Kyle Lohse.....
-
se-alumI don't mind Arroyo, but I want him to be a 4 or 5. I think, barring injuries, you'll see a lot more out of our offense this year, which should help the weaker links in the rotation. Also, this is only Leake's 3rd year removed from college, it's possible he could be a decent starter.
I really want JJ Hoover in the pen though, over Ondrusek. -
SportsAndLady^Agreed on JJ Hoover. He's going to be a stud.

sherm03Mark Berry told the team today that he has cancer. He says it was caught early, and he plans on staying with the team.
Hoping for a full recovery.
Cancer sucks. -
se-alum1 week!

sportsfan24Looks like Kyle Lohse will be staying in the division signing with the Brewers for 3 years 33 Mill.

The rotation was good enough to win 97 games last year......jordo212000;1411156 wrote:I don't love our rotation. Would love to find a way to trade somebody who makes a few million and then sign Lohse
Arroyo and Leake can be shaky. BA is on the downside and ML is on the upside so I think what LESS we get from BA will be made up by the positives of Leake.
Thing is..last year was pure luck that the rotation stayed in tact all season. It wont happen again.
How the reds will do is how a 6,7 and 8th starter does and which starter gets hurt or is extremely ineffective. It will happen, just how the law of averages goes. -
Azubuike24Look at 2011 vs 2012 for Leake. I wouldn't say he's on the upside...
