Seattle was good at scouting. Oklahoma City got lucky that it was allowed to pillage a ready made team.

But honestly, both Seattle and OKC seem to have a good administrative staff to build a team. Cleveland was more of a team that got lucky and then failed to successfully build off of that (But part of that is on LeBron as well as the organization was extremely worried about trying to appease him).

Duncan and Durrant? I'd say lucky. Now Westbrook/Harden/Ibaka I'd say a bit of both. Westbrook and Harden were top 5 picks.

Definitely lucky with Durant. Lucky that Portland decided they wanted Oden, since as the team with the #2 pick, they didn't have control over which of the two would be around when they picked.

OKC lucky with Durant. Great moves with Ibake, Sefalosha, Green and Harden though. Even Westbrook wasnt projected AS, so that sa great pick.

SA got lucky that Duncan was there when Robinson was out all year. But everything they have done sicne then has been all on the front office and it has all been, for the msot part, a success.

If Oden would have stayed healthy though he would've honestly owned. I mean he took Hibbert and then Noah & Horford down by himself basically

Saw on Twitter that he had 16.

Once it started coming out that Sully was slipping and that he'd probably up in Boston I knew it was the best possible scenario for him to succeed in the NBA. Won't be asked to do much while playing learning from KG and a very very smart NBA coach.

I hate Boston, but I really respect the Celtics and I'm glad Sully landed there.

    ROY - Anthony Davis
MIP - Paul George or Kyrie Irving
DPOY - Anthony Davis (I think kid will be special immediately, on that side)
    MVP - LeBron James
Most Surprising - Hornets, Cavs (though I think both are still short of the playoffs)
    Most Dissapointing - Clippers, Knicks
    East Champ - Heat
    West Champ - Thunder
    NBA Champ - Thunder

    All NBA:
    G - Westbrook
    G - Paul
    F - James
    F - Durant
    F/C - Love

[h=3]McGrady To Sign With Qingdao Of China[/h] Oct 08, 2012 7:34 PM EDT
Tracy McGrady is finalizing a one-year contract with Qingdao of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to sources.
McGrady was unsuccessful in trying to secure a guaranteed NBA contract for this season and decided against trying to make a roster in training camp.
McGrady is still considered a popular player in China due in part to his long tenure as Yao Ming's teammate with the Rockets.
McGrady worked out for both the Knicks and Spurs within the past month.

[h=3]Deron Williams Asked King To Stop Waiting For Dwight[/h] Oct 10, 2012 12:54 PM EDT
Deron Williams advised general manager Billy King not to wait for Dwight Howard as the Brooklyn Nets approached the 2012 offseason.
"One thing Deron did say to me, he said, 'Please, just don't wait on Dwight. We can't wait and not have a team,'" King said during the premiere of NBA TV's "The Association: Brooklyn Nets," which will air on Oct. 16.
"The team of Brooklyn is bigger than one person. I owed it to the organization, I owed it to our fans, I owed it to Deron and the players that we have to build for Brooklyn, and we went forward and built our team."
The Nets had struggled to surround Williams with complementary pieces to remain competitive as they attempted to acquire Howard.
In the offseason, the Nets re-signed Brook Lopez, Gerald Wallace and Kris Humphries, while trading for Joe Johnson.
The Magic eventually traded Howard to the Lakers.

I love the Howard trade, just because it makes me hate the Lakers more than I already do.

You love something because it makes you hate more? You need to talk with Isadore about being redeemed and all that shit, dude. Hate's not healthy.

Rondo calls Jared Sullinger "The smartest rookie he's been around" & also great comments from Paul, Doc & KG as well

I hate that Sully was drafted by Boston as I hate the Celtics. But I know he'll probably do decently well there as it is a good organization. DAMN YOU BOSTON! They've really rustled my jimmies with this move.

Fun Debate: Who's had the better career — Antawn Jamison or Vince Carter?
  • Rotinaj
Without even knowing any of the numbers I'm gonna say Carter. Seems like he was the more dominant one when healthy.
  • Pick6
I think I'll go with Jamison. All Carter will ever be to me is a dunker. Jamison, in his prime, could score. He can still do it alright later in his career as well.
  • robj55
    Carter
  • Commander of Awesome
I thought Jamison. Carter to me was the Blake Giffin of his time. Super athelete, played zero defense, didn't always play hard, and took waay too many bad shots. Highlight reel for sure, but low Basketball IQ.

And wasn't Jamison hurt by being on shit teams most of his career? Because I have this vague memory of reading how at one point in both of their primes that they had similar stats, but Vince was regarded as better because he was doing it for playoff-caliber teams while Jamison was doing it for an also-ran.

Barbosa to the Celtics, Kevin Love out 6 wks with a broken hand.

Saw that about Love, thats a bummer. Was looking forward to watching him and how the wolves started this season.

You just described Jamison, except for super athlete. Antawn was a chucker. Good scorer on bad teams. I'll take Vince for sure overall.
