NBA 2012-13

lhslep134I'm not going to assume but I'm going to guess that hardly any, if any, of you guys actually watched him play tonight. I watched the entire Pistons/Rockets game (thank you League Pass) and he is UNDOUBTEDLY a top 25 talent. I can't name 25 players better than him. You don't drop 37, 12, 6, 4 by being a pure scorer. Sorry

Yeah I think Varejao put numbers up like that the other night too; is he a top 25 player?SportsAndLady;1309560 wrote:37, 12, 6, and 4 for Harden -

Easily better than Dwight, Bynum, etc.sleeper;1309621 wrote:Yeah I think Varejao put numbers up like that the other night too; is he a top 25 player? -
RotinajI didn't say he wasn't a top 25 player. I just asked the question. Ill hold judgement until he plays more than 1 game this season.

Did you see the part of my post where I said I didn't disagree with him? -

Yeah shit happens. The Lakers rebounded strongly tonight against a team that didn't sniff the playoffs last year with an impressive double digit blowout loss.wildcats20;1308821 wrote:Shit happens. It's the first game with half a new roster. I think I'll save my judgments til later on.
Lakers....now 0-10 for the year. I'll take any action that the Lakers are a lottery pick team this year. PM me if interested. -

I watched him plenty in the preseason...and on TV last night. The man is washed up...and is the worst point guard in the league when you include defense as part of the package. He can't move at all. very painful to watch.lhslep134;1308955 wrote:Anyone who thinks Nash is completely washed up doesn't watch the NBA. Sorry, it's that simple.
Nash was top 5 last year among point guards in wins added, 5th in value added, 1st in true shooting %, and 7th in PER. He almost led one of the worst teams in the conference to the brink of the playoffs in the West and was the only reason they were relevant.
My brain is scrambling to comprehend that garbage uttered a few posts above.
Mods, infract me if you must but FOOTWEDGE YOU ARE SO IGNORANT
Now...you want a little action on the Lake Show being a lottery team? PM me. -
Midstate01Lakers suck. Looked pitiful again tonight

Completely fair, although I feel it's just as fair to infer that your question meant you didn't feel he was a top 25 player. BUT, you did ask it as a question, and it's a legit question.Rotinaj;1309627 wrote:I didn't say he wasn't a top 25 player. I just asked the question.
I think it's much more clear he's a max player than top 25 (though obviously I feel he's well within top 25). Hibbert and Gordon, IMO won't be top 25 players and they have max deals. As someone said earlier (or maybe on the Harden thread) a max deal is different from someone being a max player. Whoever said Lebron is worth more than the max is 100% right, I read an article that said his actual monetary worth was somewhere around 30+ million a year, or some figure way above whatever figure his max salary was. -

I KNOW that you know what you're saying. And if I read you correctly, you're saying it in a serious yet jestful way. But did you watch him play at all last year? I got stuck watching every one of his games on FSArizona, and he was f*cking awesome. I don't see a dropoff, especially with someone like him, that would drop him from borderline MVP candidate to total scrub.Footwedge;1309661 wrote: The man is washed up...and is the worst point guard in the league when you include defense as part of the package. -

Jesus you are idiotic. Footwedge when was the last time one of your ridiculous predictions/bets came true? You're literally never right. I would PM you on that bet, but you'd probably want 20-1 odds. SMH at you.Footwedge;1309661 wrote:I watched him plenty in the preseason...and on TV last night. Yep, he seems to be quite the dumbshit. Lakers will still be a top 4 seed.SportsAndLady;1309743 wrote:Jesus you are idiotic. lhslep134From ESPN regarding Harden's statline
Only three other players in the past 25 years have hit those numbers in a single game:Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Dwyane Wade. And here was Harden doing it just four days after being traded to Houston. -

Not really that impressive. Such a vague stat line.lhslep134;1309913 wrote:From ESPN regarding Harden's statline

got to love the statlines that are essentially meaningless that are twisted to make them look significant. He has a double double, but he also had 4 steals and a block.. So this was one of the greatest games played by a player in all time!lhslep134;1309913 wrote:From ESPN regarding Harden's statline

Yeah especially being the only "good" player on the Rockets. wildcats20It was definitely a great night. But also definitely not one of the greatest of all time.

robj55Lakers still have a ton of time to gel and improve. They looked much better offensively last night but were awful on the defensive end. That's why I still think OKC will beat them, how can they match up with the perimeter of OKC? Will be interesting to say the least.

As a singular measure? I agree it's worthless. As a measure of his ability, I think it has significant relevance.sleeper;1309918 wrote:Not really that impressive. Such a vague stat line.
Sleeper, you think he's not a top 25 player, go ahead and proffer an argument that isn't merely a Skip Bayless argument (ie a lot of fluff without any actual substance to the argument). -

Top 25 players aren't 6th men off the bench. There's a reason he wasn't a starter on OKC. -
sleeperAlso, random players have good stat lines at times. Varejao almost had a triple double with 23 rebounds, but no one is sitting here saying Varejao is a top 25 player. Harden had one good game. Look at his career averages: 12.8 ppg, 2.5 apg, 3.4 rpg. That's a top 25 player? LOL

Trueblue23I can def name 25 players I'd take over James Harden
