Indians vs. Royals : At the trade deadline

  • BRF
Well, I just heard Marie "Let Them Eat Cake" Antonetti on the radio pre-game talk about the great acquisition of Lars Anderson, who will be playing first base at Columbus. Woo Hoo!

Then she went on to say (paraphrased) that it was in the best interests of the team to stick with the guys we have now and hope they do better. And another "Woo Hoo!".

Fuck antonetti, fuck Shapiro, fuck Dolan, fuck acta, fuck everyone associated with this abortion.
  • Mulva
This might be the worst pitching matchup of the season.
  • BRF
Yeah, Hammy just said "Boy, this is like batting practice for these two clubs!"
  • BRF
Lowe out after giving up six and demoted Tomlin in to mop up.

    Good night, pals.
  • Crimson streak
Lol at Lowe and tomlin. They both need cut. Bring up Gomez and kluber and roll with them the rest of the year
  • ts1227
The first person that comes on here or any thread saying they bought tickets or are at a game for any time the rest of this season is banned through the World Series for aiding and abetting the Dolan Family
  • Mulva
Oh yeah, the Indians are paying Lowe $5 million this year. More money well spent.
  • HitsRus
This is just hard to watch.

Is it bad for me to want to start watching the Reds?
  • IggyPride00
Lowe has now given up 59 earned runs in his last 59 innings since May 26th for a nice healthy ERA of 9.

At 39 years old it is safe to say he is done.
  • chippy10
is it bad that i really just want the tribe to just really tank it so maybe we can finally make changes at the top... yess...
  • IggyPride00
we can finally make changes at the top
    You're smoking crack.

You think the Dolan's are going to pay anyone not to work at this point? Not a chance. Firing them would mean paying them and their replacements, and in the Dolan world that is a total non-starter.

We need mark cuban to buy the indians or browns

^^ I did just tweet dan gilbert asking him to buy either one. Let's see what he says

The only teams in baseball with a worse run differential than the Indians are the Astros, Rockies, Twins, and Marlins. Now tied with the Royals at -66.
  • stlouiedipalma
Well, that sterling performance by the Tribe only made it easier for me to change the channel to the Giants' game. Love listening to Kuiper.

Thank God the Olympics were on, even though it was tape delayed---I heard Underwood intimating that when Hernandez (aka Fausto) is eligible, Lowe will be the one sent packing. I hope he's right.
  • HitsRus
...Rumors flying that Lowe has pitched his last game as an Indian.

God I hope so. Since they decided to keep this roster in tact, will the front office use the $28.75 million coming off the books this offseason from Hafner, Sizemore, Lowe, Kotchman, Damon and Slowey? It is laughable that those 6 guys have either sucked dick or haven't play an inning this year yet take up 43.9% of the Tribes payroll.

Actually probably will only be approximately $20 million with raises to current players.

Not the greatest Acta fan, but Earl Weaver, Sparky Anderson, and Tony Larussa couldn't do any better with this line up. He probably deserves kudos just for having them close to .500.

I was reading Jeff Passan's winners/losers of the trade deadline and he had Cleveland as losers simply because they didn't trade Perez because (a) they obviously weren't trying to upgrade and (b) when you're a small-market team, an expensive closer (ie: guy who'll only be involved in 60 innings) is a luxury they don't need AND could have gotten good prospects for (considering that Cincy traded two good ones to get the inferior Broxton).

Yeah, and vinnie is their future closer anyhow. This front office really has no clue.
