2012 NBA Offseason

ohiobucks1Yeah, I think the nets will be great...at least in the same comparison as the bulls were this year.
Although when I say great I mean around 40+ wins.
and edit for whatever that translates to a full season of.
So I guess I'd say around 55-60 -

Yeah, that's not great. Especially with an actual full season.ohiobucks1;1229208 wrote:Yeah, I think the nets will be great.

haha, no offense, but at 40 they will be UNDER .500. I know you said 40+, but still.ohiobucks1;1229208 wrote:Yeah, I think the nets will be great.

ohiobucks1lol I'm retarded.
55+ wins in a full NBA season -

Def don't see that happening. I see them in the 45-52 range.ohiobucks1;1229211 wrote:lol I'm retarded.

swooshI see them as a 4-6 seed.

haha, ok. If they get to 55+ Ill come back here and agree they had a great season. I dont see it though.ohiobucks1;1229211 wrote:lol I'm retarded.

I think they will compete for the 4 seed. I have Heat 1, Pacers 2 and Celtics 3. Bulls up there higher if Rose comes back earlier and healthy. -

If Rose misses most of the season, I don't even see them in the playoffs. -

I can see them really struggling. But even without Rose, they have a Reg. Season type team. They play defense and are grinders/battle tested. They are not good without Rose, but they still manage to win enough.swoosh;1229217 wrote:If Rose misses most of the season, I don't even see them in the playoffs.
that said, nothing would surprise me if he is out most of the year. -
wildcats20Isn't Rose expected back around the first of the year?
-
Pick6The Nets signing Joe Johnson isnt scaring anybody. Probably a lower seeded playoff team
-
Laley23
Last I heard was he wasnt recovering all that quickly. I heard end of February. Granted, that was like 2 months ago.wildcats20;1229222 wrote:Isn't Rose expected back around the first of the year? -
Commander of AwesomeI've heard Feb as well.
-
wildcats20Ok. I swore at one time I heard that. Probably was an original prognosis.
-
Laley23
I think initially they thought that, cause people have been recovering around 6 months recently (if you are a pro athlete with all the help in the world). But something about Rose wasnt going quick and they think its gonna be closer to the typical 9 months.wildcats20;1229229 wrote:Ok. I swore at one time I heard that. ohiobucks1Hey.. .I'm by no means an expert lol I just have this feeling the Nets will win 55.
We'll see! -
Commander of AwesomeIf Lopez stays healthy, in the shitty Eastern Conference I could see it. I'm a bigger fan of Deron Williams than most though.

osu45804Boston sends JaJuan Johnson to Houston for Courtney Lee
Edit: Celtics will send E'Twaun Moore, JaJuan Johnson, Sean Williams & a 2nd rd pick in for Courtney Lee -

The Joe Johnson move was the primary reason that DWill stayed, so I am 100% in favor of it, despite the crazy contract.Pick6;1229224 wrote:The Nets signing Joe Johnson isnt scaring anybody. Probably a lower seeded playoff team
The Nets did exactly (well, without Howard, maybe not 100% exactly) what they set out to do: have a playoff team in their first season in Brooklyn and ... piss off the Knicks. Really like their roster, and if they get into the 2nd round after being a turd for several years, I'll take it. Really love their offseason moves, including one that hasn't gotten a ton of play: I think Mirza Teletovic can be a sneaky pickup, he was dominant in Europe.
PS, the Barclays Center is going to be sweet. I had wondered how they would wedge an arena into the corner of Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues (two major streets in Brooklyn), but the design is sharp:

I'm with you. I think he's underrated in the sense that people don't really realize how awesome he really is. They know he's great, but not really great.Commander of Awesome;1229310 wrote:. I'm a bigger fan of Deron Williams than most though. -

Same here. -
hoops23Deron is the best PG in the game, IMO. Until Kyrie takes the spot.

I'm with you hoops, I was being a pussy and didn't want to say it (bc of the Rose and CP3 love) but I'd take him first overall in a PG draft. That being said, CP3 and Rose are awesome. Deron IMO on his game is the best of the bunch.hoops23;1229365 wrote:Deron is the best PG in the game, IMO. Until Kyrie takes the spot. -
bigdaddy2003I'm a Rondo guy personally as far as pure point guards go.
-
MulvaI've said D-Will was the best PG in the game for a few years now.
I think him and CP3 are close though, and honestly putting one above the other might depend on the players around them (the overall fit with their team).
