Curious at who you see making a run at the playoffs in the East. Outside of Boston and Mia and I guess NY I'm having a hard time coming up with other teams that improved. Atl got worse IMO, Bobcats I don't see making a run. Chic possibly, be hard without Rose. NY I think is stagnant/could argue they're worse. Toronto maybe, depending on valciousnosususohshs (or however its spelled). Wizards I would doubt it. Orlando will be worse without Howard. Philly and Indy I'd put in the mix, though Philly got worse IMO.wildcats20;1228517 wrote:I don't know about easily, but they could definitely make a run at the 7 or 8.
So I have Mia, Boston, Pacers, Nets as in. Maybe Mil gets in this yr, and leaves 3 more spots. I'd think with a healthy Bynum the Cavs could make the playoffs. -

The Knicks are in. That's 5 for sure with Chicago in most likely. That's 6.
That's leaves the last 2 spots up for grabs. The Bucks have a good shot and I would say Atlanta could get in too.
I'm not saying it's out of the question for the Cavs but to say they make the playoffs easily after being one of the worst teams in the League last season is laughable. -
wildcats20I mean obviously they are going to be better. And I don't think the playoffs are out of the question. But to say they would easily make it? I mean come on.

Wait. Who did Philly lose? What did I miss? Lol -
Laley23Brand. I think thats it. But I was out of town for 4 days and missed a TON of NBA action.
-
SportsAndLadyCavs would easily make the playoffs in the East (not that hard) with Bynum...no brainer to me.
-
wildcats20They would be losing AV in the trade.

And Lou Williams.
I think the 76ers will be good and probably in the playoffs, but its time to give ET the keys to the car and let him sink or swim. I really think they go up or down depending on how he improves. -

Yep, thats one I didnt know about. Pretty big loss. Productive scorer for them. Gonna be tough to replace that type of guard.Terry_Tate;1228557 wrote:And Lou Williams.

I agree with ET. Let him be #1 and AI #2. I think AI is a better #2 anyway, kinda like Danny Granger. -

I don't agree with you about Chicago. To me they're like the old Cavs without LBJ, Carlos User Looser Boozer isn't leading them into the playoffs. Deng and him can't ever stay healthy and I just don't buy into them making it, unless Rose comes back early and healthy. Atlanta only got worse IMO, they lost their go to number 1 scorer, and while still talented I think they falter. Mil is in the same boat IMO as last season. Some decent players, but don't scare anyone. They got rid of Bogut for Jack city who plays negative defense. Their back court is really undersized, and have a tendency to take HORRIBLE shots.wildcats20;1228535 wrote:I mean obviously they are going to be better. 76ers got worse, as did the knicks. I think the Knicks still find a way in, I'm undecided on the 76ers. I think the Cavs with ROY Irving, and widely considered the #2 center in the league (yet to be seen if his head is in the game) a nice back up at #4 and #5 in Zeller, hopefully an improved #2 guard in Waiters (again a maybe) could and should be in the mix for a playoff spot. Especially with how weak the East looks right now.
Until I started writing this post last night, I hadn't even considered how weak the East the looks for the upcoming season. Its pretty bleak. -

I never said they wouldn't.
But saying they EASILY make the playoffs after finishing 14 games out of the 8 seed last year is laughable. -

You also forget that we were in tank mode last season. I understand what you're getting at. And to some extent I agree, I'm just explaining with how terrible the east is, and the Cavs end up with the second best center in the league I would expect them to make the playoffs. If that categorized as "easily" then so be it.wildcats20;1228698 wrote:I never said they wouldn't.

wildcats20Let alone saying a 4, 5 or 6 is possible.
-

Is that wrong? Is it not possible we get a 4, 5, or 6 seed?wildcats20;1228700 wrote:Let alone saying a 4, 5 or 6 is possible.

I do. We're gonna get the 1 seed.SportsAndLady;1228705 wrote:Is that wrong? Is it not possible we get a 4, 5, or 6 seed?

It is definitely possible. The cavs after the all star break last year were a game out of the 8th seed. Av was already gone for the season and then kyrie had a mystery shoulder injury and sat out about 80 percent of the games after that. We went straight to tank mode. With a better kyrie, a healthy Bynum, and add in waiters and zeller. I honestly think we're better than everyone In the easy besides miami, Boston, Indiana, and maybe the nets . So 4-5-6 seed isn't that far off. -
MulvaThe east is gonna be so bad.

The Celtics, Pacers, and possibly bulls are all very GOOD teams. The Heat and Nets are going to be GREAT teams.
How can you say a league is bad when at least 5 teams are very good? -

Lol at the nets being a great team -
Laley23Nets added Joe Johnson, and all the sudden they are going to go from terrible to great? Joe Johnson is not that good.

swooshAnd they overpaid for Kris Kardashian, err Humphries.

Will the be improved? Certainly. A healthy Lopez, Johnson being added and Wallace for a whole year. But those are all just complementary pieces. Williams is the only star, and they were still terrible last year and have the bulk of that coming back.like_that;1229201 wrote:+1, I am not buying into this Nets hype. -
RotinajThe order in the east means nothing. It's the Heat, then everyone else. As long as you don't get the 8th seed in round 1 you have somewhat of a chance no matter who you play.
