I'd be happy if the Bruins signed anyone of these plays for the right price. I was talking to a friend of mine and neither of us would mind if they traded lucic and krejci for Nash. The money would work out.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDregerExpect the Penguins to announce Sidney Crosby's contract extension on Sunday. Over $100 million dollars with an AAV of close to $9 mil per.

Honestly - i wouldn't give him that much since he'll most likely get another concussion soon.

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrunCrosby's agent Pat Brisson of CAA Sports just told me the deal will be $104.4 million over 12 years

It's exactly the same deal he signed in 07, just with seven more years.

How is this different than the Kovy deal? this should get rejected.

Geno doing a little better here with a hammerhead shark...lol

I like the Sid deal. Same salary cap hit of $8.7 million. By announcing it now it tells potential free agents that Sid took a home town discount (he could have asked for $14 million under the current CBA) and is serious about building another Cup team.

Yes, with his injury history it is risky, but there are 29 other teams that would have offered Sid a hell of a lot more that $8.7 million/year to play for their team.

I might be mistaken, but weren't some of those other long term deals heavily back-loaded which was a way to try and get around the cap? With this being the same pay from beginning to end that shouldn't be an issue.

Because this doesn't circumvent the cap. Kovy's first deal got rejected b/c it was 102million for 17 years. He's getting paid 12 million while his cap hit is a lit over 6 mil.

Rangers aren't going to move Kreider, Stepan, or McDonagh which Howson wants one of.

Arron Asham is a Ranger. Tanner Glass is a Penguin. Parise to Pittsburgh rumors gaining momentum and may become a reality soon.
