2012 NHL Offseason

  • GoPens
2012-2013 Schedules are out. (Providing Don Fehr doesn't fuck everything up and have a long strike)
    Here's the Pens.

    http://penguins.nhl.com/club/schedule.htm?season=20122013&gameType=2

Interesting in that mid March to early April, the Pens play 10 out of 11 games at home.

Jordan Staal rejects a 10 year deal to stay with Pittsburgh.

    http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/sports/penguins/staal-rejects-10-year-deal-from-penguins-641416/

    Was reportedly worth $60 million.

Reports out of Canada are that the Pens are offering Crosby a 10 year, $90 million but that's not confirmed.

Team and players can't sign a deal before July 1st. Kind of surprised that they offered a 10 year deal to Staal.

Crosby and Staal have one year left on their contracts.
    Malkin has 2 years
    Fleury has 3 years.

How many the team can re-sign may depend on the new collective bargaining agreement.

You can negotiate a new deal with someone if they have 1 year left on their current deal. Just can't sign until July 1st.

    More rumors:

-Yandle may be on the move

    -Loungo deals seem dead

-Ottawa has stepped up as a new player for Nash

    -Bobby Ryan

-Colorado might trade for Parise's rights

First round tonight. Yakupov will go #1, question remains is Edmonton will stay at #1 to take him though. I think they will. And then I think the Jackets will somehow bungle their pick.

They should trade the pick for Nash.

Sergei Bobrovsky could be on his way to Columbus, Per Dreger

I wouldn't be shocked to see them pass and take Reinhardt or Murray.

You're saying Edmonton passing on Yakupov and taking Reinhardt or Murray at #1? As a Jackets fan it's a dream scenario but I don't think it'll happen. They know they can trade down to probably #4 and still get Murray at least.

Porty was saying he doesn't think the CBJ will take Yakupov even if he's there at 2, because well, they are the Blue Jackets.

Yes, I'm saying I think they pass on Yakupov even if he drops to No. 2. Key word: 'think'. This is culled from several chats.

Murray's brother is essentially saying the Oilers will take Ryan.

your post made it seem like speculation - just confirming. Also didn't see it in the CBJ thread.

Porty doesn't know shit. He's got no inside info.

    Sarcasm?

No. He's an idiot. Remember when Dineen was going to be the coach? Arace is even dumber.

Dineen should have been the coach, as should Guy Boucher. Hard being a beat writer when Howson is such a dumbass even he doesn't know wtf he's doing.

Yakupov is the pick for Edmonton. Third Russian to go #1 overall.
  • gorocks99
And the CBJ take Ryan Murray at 2
  • chicago510
Well our D is fling to be solid....our offense and goalie not so much
  • gorocks99
Jordan Staal to Carolina for the 8th pick, Brandon Sutter and Brian Dumoulin
  • gorocks99
Holy shit, D-men. Six of the first eight picks have been defensemen. Some of these teams are going to get steals at forward.
