Tribe @ Reds (Series Thread)

  • Laley23
Took another 2 out of 3 versus the Cards. Now come the Reds. Hopefully my luck continues and we can win another series.

Tigers did steal one tonight versus Cincy, and took 2 of 3, so they remain the same 4.5 games back. Chicago lost 2 of 3 to Houston, so we closed that gap to .5 games.

As for todays game, I missed it. Did Ubaldo throw a lot more fastballs again? That seems to be working for him recently, and has seen him walk a LOT less batters.

Chris Welsh will slam Johnny Damon....no idea why

Sucks that Cincy shit the bed last night...I would like to see Detroit get buried back further. Anyhow, Santana needs to get his ass straightened around...he swings for the fences in every at bat.

    Ahh the Adam Dunn approach.

yeah, but there was a tweet yesterday that said Dunn was on pace to hit 52 hrs and have 124 rbi. Santana is on pace for about 15 hr...lol

I know they are fixing interleague play for next season, but here is what pisses me off about interleague play now. The tribe will be playing the following teams in interleague play"

    Reds (2 series)
    Pirates
    Astros
    Cardinals (already played)

Pirates/Reds/Cardinals are all within 2 games of each other for the division lead.

Meanwhile the White Sox get to play the worst team in the league (Cubs) and the Brewers who are about 5 games under .500.

I can't imagine Dunn keeping that pace. If he does, I call roids.

He won't keep that pace but he's hit 46 before. And 40+ a lot. He doesn't roid. He's just a giant man.

Lol at Adam Dunn on steroids. There's no way. And he'll probably end up in the 40-45 range.
  • Ironman92
Yeah....Dunn is definitely on the roids....that's why he's on pace for a .226 avg and 245 strikeouts.

Dunn is doing almost exactly what he did every year from 2003-2010.....the only difference is that he's hitting 3rd in a pretty good lineup. Dunn, outside of last year may be the most consistent player of all-time. 40/100 high walks and high strikeouts, plays every game.....if anyone has true 50 HR power....it's Dunn....the RBI is his spot in the order and being on an over .500 team.

Ok, ok I just hate Dunn.

I think they should play the Reds and Pirates every year

I just think everyone in the division should play the same teams.

I'm with you there. I want a balanced schedule.

How are they fixing it for next year? I had heard with the Astros moving to the American League that there would be unbalance leagues.... 16 teams AL, 14 teams NL, which would ensure interleague play in every series somewhere.

Wut? No assist for me?

One of the reasons I like playing the Reds is getting to read the input from our Cinci OC brethren.

    Go Tribe!

Always a fun series. Too bad we didn't miss Cueto. Pitching matchups:

    Cueto vs Gomez.
    Lowe v Leake on Wednesday
Tomlin v Latos on Thursday afternoon.
  • thavoice
Well, what we saw on Sunday night was the beginning of the end of the Reds season.

They will not come back from that debacle.

At least you get Cueto with Leake and Latos, who have been pretty much terrible this year. Latos is pitching like a #4 at best.

I dont know why they even bother with divisions/leagues in baseball. With 162 game scheudle, everyone can everyone and equal amount. It's really quite silly when you think about it.

I thought moving the Astros would make both leagues even. 5 teams per division.

This is correct. It was the reasoning for moving the 'Stros. Both leagues will have an equal amount of teams.

My bad. They were talking about this on the radio the other day and said it would be 16/14. Guess that's what you get for listening to dumbasses (on the radio). :D

This. Moving it from the current 16/14 to 15 each next year is what is forcing there to be at least one IL series all year.
