Unless the ball gets away from the catcher. ;-)

    True.

Wouldn't you have to break it all the way down to rather or not there was someone on base when the strikeout occurred? With nobody on an out is an out, no matter how you make it. It would be interesting to see how many of the strikeouts came with runners on base.

Who gives a shit about Adam Dunn lol. He plays for the whitesox. Right there makes him an instant douche

I suppose you would. It's still and indication of risk reward choices as a player...or he doesn't guess very well.

...not a fan of the White Sox team personality either.

    You're taking Kipnis over Bruce??

I would in a second. Kipnis hits for a better average and has very good speed and solid d. All Bruce does is hit home runs but kipnis should be a guy who will hit 25-30 hrs a year. He's more valuable then Bruce

Lol honestly how many reds games have you watched? If you say more than maybe 2 you're lying. Bruce has one of the best outfield arms in baseball, hes not just hitting homeruns, rarely makes an error, and is a leader on the team...big ol LOL @ he only hits homeruns.

He plays good d too but kipnis is an all around better player. Bruce might hit more home runs and little more rbis but kipnis brings average, power and speed. And I've seen Bruce play about 5 times over the last 2 years. So I really don't have a big sample size but in my preference I like the all around great player over the great power hitter.

All Bruce does is hit homers? He also hits more doubles, has a higher OPS, and plays Gold Glove caliber defense.

    Absolutely.

But then again, I thought going into the season Kipnis had an outside chance to be the best 2B in baseball. Love his swing, and approach at the plate. Above average power. Well above average speed. 30/30 maybe? He is the Tribes best player, no doubt.

Hes also a RFer. Kipnis is a middle IFer. If the numbers are similar, big advantage to the IF, imo.
  • like_that
Jay Bruce just reminds me of another Adam Dunn imo. To be fair though I haven't seen much of the Reds at all this year.

Kipnis has a higher obs, average, rbis, stolen bases less strike outs, 2 less walks, more triples, only 3 less homeruns and has 3 errors and more runs. Yeah I'll take him over Bruce
  • Crimson streak
Btw he's projected to have 27 hrs and 41 sb. That's almost unheard of

I was just letting you know that Bruce does more than hit homeruns. The only obvious advantage Kipnis has over Bruce is speed. Of course, Bruce is 4" taller and 40lbs heavier, so that's to be expected.

I'm just letting you know that kipnis is the better player ;) especially when they have almost the same power numbers right now

Easy, I'm not saying Kipnis isn't a good player, he seems to be. However, he's played a little over a 3rd of a Major League season. I'm interested to see how the league adjusts to him.

This is my thought. Kipnis doesn't have 100 games under his belt yet. He looks like he'll be a good one, but a lot of guys start out hot and fall flat.
  • Crimson streak
He came up middle of last year and has tore it up since he's been up. I could be wrong but I think he's here to stay.

No hard feelings just giving you some shit. Either way both of them are very very good players. Not anywhere near votto but ya know lol

I think so too, but then again....Santana has regressed when I thought he would be an all star
