Let me ask you a question, would you take BRandon Marshall?

    No,Yes,No

Yes to all, if it meant them playing for the Browns. Either of them would be a huge upgrade over what we have now.

However, I wouldn't take them over Fitz, and Johnson & Johnson..reliable guys who always show up.
  • hoops23
Well, Roddy dropped 15 passes. He had a drop rate of 13%, compared to Little at 18%

    Donald Driver was at 17%...

    Marshall close to 15%

    Jackson at around 13.4%

Roddy White has actually improved quite a bit the last few seasons in terms of drop rate. Drops aren't something I'd be concerned about, especially from a rookie WR who missed a year of action and was just converted to WR a few seasons ago.

Doesn't matter what letter grade you want to give them. We lost ground to every team in the division, when in theory, with the higher draft picks and number of picks we had accumulated, we should have made up ground.
This is incorrect in that the Browns made up ground due to the fact of the sheer number of mediocre players that will be replaced with upgrades. Our draft picks will replace mediocre players where those other teams will lose better players.

It's likely that a lot more of the Browns rookies (which will be upgrades) will see the field more than a lot of those other teams' draft picks....just due to the fact that most of those other teams ALREADY have good players that those draft picks might not supplant immediatelty. Guys like T-Rich, Weeden, Schwartz, probably Benjamin and an OLB will see action immediately being upgrades over Hillis, McCoy, Pashos, name a receiver besides Little & Fujita.

Once the final roster is set for this season, it would be interesting to see a list of the turnover this roster has seen since Heckert came into town.

And here he goes already...I kinda wanted the Browns to try to sign him at the least if not take a 7th on him. Think he will cause any headaches?

I imagine a sh*tton. That's why it's taking so long to make progress, even though we are making progress.

“I’m going to go in the first week and take notes of what he’s doing,” Burfict said of Maualuga.

Great ,does that mean he is going to get DUI's and assault people?

But you're definitely wrong w/ the Ravens comparison. Trent isn't a stud RB yet (he could be a bust for all we know), Weeden isn't comparable to Flacco (he could be a bust, too) other than they both have good arm strength, and our receivers aren't mediocre..they're straight up awful. The Ravens have at the very worst mediocre receivers. The Browns receivers would be on the practice squad of almost every other NFL team. They're awful. Terrible. Disgustingly bad. And we didn't do a god damn thing to improve the position. That's what has me so upset. We could have picked up a free agent WR or two, yet we sat around and did nothing.

It's arrogance...they think our WRs are good enough. It's going to be hilarious watching them (H&H) realize that isn't the case.
Weedon will be better than Joe Flacco. There is no argument. As for TRich, he should be just as good as RayRay, and probably better.

When't the last time a top 5 pick runner back didn't turn into a stud? Look it up...it's been awhile. Maybe...just maybe Reggie Bush...but his career isn't over.

I hope Lerner moves this garbage team to Europe.

Easily the worst draft in the history of fuck.
I don't think its even a top 5 worst draft THIS year much less of all time. Weeden picked sucked balls, but the Richardson pick was solid as well as getting the RT.

We still don't have a WR worth a damn, although I think Benjamin could be what we need.

Well first off there hasn't been many RB's selected in the top 5 but 2005 had 3 that are not "studs" in Ronnie Brown,Cedric Benson and Carnell williams.

^^^I agree with sleeper...and also Walter football assesment. This wasn't the worst draft, but it could have been a lot better.

There has been a ton of turnover. But this regime is now on the 3rd QB that they've brought in (Delhomme and McCoy). 3rd RB too (Hillis and Hardesty). And Lauvao. And Pashos and Hicks. And Fujita. And Jayme Mitchell. And Usama Young.

So forget the previous regime. The amount of turnover from guys that they've brought in as "upgrades" less than 3 years ago to the newest upgrades brought in to replace those guys has something to do with the "so long to make progress" thing too.

It won't be because Randy was impatient that they get fired if the record is that bad, but because of their incompetence.

5/4/4 (or less) wins in 3 seasons is cause for termination. No excuses.

Detroit was 0-16 in 2008, and by the 3rd year of their rebuild they were in the playoffs. Hard to find any rational why these guys should still have jobs if we don't win at least 6 games at a bare minimum this year 3 years into the rebuild.

I think that message was conveyed from the owner, and it is why we saw some urgency from this regime for the first time in 3 years in this draft.
Not only that but Detroit is going to be poised if they fix their holes on D to win a Super Bowl within the next 6-8 years barring injuries. But you've gotta understand that Mayhew and Schwartz are unbelievably good

Horrible RB. Thought they should've taken Boom Herron.

Another noodle armed QB with the second pick. Should've gone with the "sure thing", late in Kellen Moore.

An offensive tackle who looked horrible owning Nick Perry when they faced each other.

And the rest couldn't scratch the lineup of the Gladiators.
I am going to be absolutely ruthless on telling you how bad Weeden is....prepare
