2012 Thread O' The Pittsburgh Pirates: SS/DY

BR1986FBC'mon guys....don't let them build up TOO much confidence/momentum before they come to Cleveland.
-
HereticThey beat Johan Santana last night, which was nice. Especially since they fell behind 4-0 early and came back. Coming back is good, as their offense has been so putrid that an early deficit can be fatal no matter how few runs it is. It'd be nice if this sparks some momentum, like in a "LOOK GUYS! WE REALLY CAN SCORE WHEN WE NEED TO!!!" way.

It was very nice. 20-22....not bad at this point in the season when you consider the lack of offense. -
HereticI get a lot of spam emails for the usual pills. I feel like shipping some version of viagra to them, because something has to cure their offensive impotence. Maybe they need to go back to coke and uppers like the "We Are Family" version of the team. Those guys could hit!

killer_ewokBuccos completed a sweep of Chicago with a 10-4 drubbing of the Cubs this afternoon. Alvarez hit a 3-run bomb in the 1st. Bedard picks up the win with another strong outing.
-
HereticSwept the Cubs and are now one game under .500. Need to take 2/3 from the Reds, who are playing better now than they did early when they took 2/3 from the Pirates. Not an easy task, but with McDonald going today, they at least have a good shot of getting off to a good start.
-
killer_ewokRaise it.
-
killer_ewokTook one on the chin to the tune of an 8-1 Cincy win. Ouch. Need a good effort out of Burnett tonight to have a chance at taking this series.
-
killer_ewokRaise it. Nice series win vs. the Reds. 25-25....
-
Heretic.500 through 50 games and within three of first place despite not having much offense so far this year. I'll take that. Their pitching is keeping them in games and giving them chances to win and they do seem to have guys who can get big hits when needed (even if they get out every other time).
-
killer_ewokPirates released Nate McLouth today.
-
killer_ewokPirates beat the Brewers 8-2 last night and are now above .500.
Could this be the year.... -
killer_ewokBuccos lost to the Brew Crew yesterday but just won today's game to take the series.
Raise it. -
HereticBig series coming up with the Reds in Cincy. Three games back entering the series, so this one could get them really up there, or drop them a long ways back.
-
End of Line
10-3 in the last 13 aint to bad. -

Haha...Awesome.
Three-game home series with the Royals. Pirates have the pitching edge in all three. -
killer_ewokPirates beat the Royals 4-2 last night. Bedard pitched pretty well. Would love to see a sweep here. McDonald is on the mound tonight and then Burnett tomorrow afternoon.
-
GoPensBucs beat KC 5-3. Go for the sweep tomorrow. Four games over .500 and a game out of first!
-
End of LineUp 1-0 in the bottom of the 3rd
-
killer_ewok3-0 now. Cutch with all 3 RBI's. Just hit a 2-run jack.
-
killer_ewokRaise it! Get the brooms out!
-
GoPensDetroit cooperating. Up by 1 over the Reds in the 8th
-
NonI went down today. First game I attended this season. Going Saturday at Cleveland.
This will be a tough week playing at Baltimore and Cleveland.
Offense doesn't have enough depth for an AL style lineup. I'd be happy with 3-3 out of this 6. -
NonTigers win 7-6.
Pirates tied for first! -
End of LineRaise that Jolly fucking Roger!!!
