killer_ewokKarstens on the mound tonight for the Buccos. He's been very good in his last few starts. Let's hope that continues tonight.

With Wandy pitching for the Pirates tomorrow, who will the Astros plug into his spot? Just because I'd be looking forward to the potential enjoyment of him going against Rudy Owens, if Houston would call him up for their rotation under the reasoning of "he can't be any worse than some of the clowns we're sending out now".killer_ewok;1235468 wrote:Karstens on the mound tonight for the Buccos. HereticNever mind that, according to Houston's SB Nation blog, Owens pitched Wednesday and struggled in his first AAA start. Grossman also played in that game and did decent. Looks like he also is at AAA even though he wasn't all that great at AA for the Pirates.

killer_ewokBuccos down 5-4 in the top of the 9th with 1 out and bases loaded...sac fly to deep center. 5 all.
-
Midstate01Astros are soooooo bad
-
killer_ewokWild pitch! Pirates lead 6-5!
-
killer_ewokRaise it.
-
killer_ewok@JoeStarkey1: My God, a thought just struck: What if Pirates are only local team to get out of first round of playoffs in calendar year 2012?
-
killer_ewokPirates got rocked by the Asstros today to the tune of 9-5. McDonald pitched like shit. I'm getting a bad feeling about him.

He's struggled since the break. But hasn't given up tons of runs. I need him for fantasy! -

I don't want that to happen. -
Crimson streakIndians want marte and Locke. I dk if the pirates will do that. As a tribe fan I would love for choo to go to the pirates
-
GoPensNo way would I give up Marte for Choo. How many years does Choo have left on his contact? I've heard both that he'll be a free agent after this year and that he has another year on his contract. No way if he's just a rental and will be a free agent after this year--especially with Boras as his agent.

I know on the SB Nation Pirates blog, they had a blurb about this with a tweet by a Pirates writer saying that he figures it would have been a short conversation if Cleveland wanted Marte for Choo. He would just be a rental as Boras is going for huge $$$ for him after this year. Definitely not worth giving up Marte over and if they want another player (ie: Locke) too, fuck 'em.GoPens;1236908 wrote:No way would I give up Marte for Choo. Crimson streakHe's a free agent after the 2013 season

I've also heard they want both Marte and Locke. I agree, I don't care if he doesn't become a free agent until after next year. Fuck Cleveland and say no do that deal.Heretic;1236909 wrote:I know on the SB Nation Pirates blog, they had a blurb about this with a tweet by a Pirates writer saying that he figures it would have been a short conversation if Cleveland wanted Marte for Choo. Devils AdvocateThe series in Cinci this weekend looms..

killer_ewok14-4 Cubs. Pathetic.
-
killer_ewok@Dejan_Kovacevic: #Pirates have acquired OF Travis Snider from Blue Jays for RHP Brad Lincoln
-
HereticSnider has been in the minors most of the year, but hit 3 homers in 9 games in the bigs (while dominating at AAA). Former top prospect, kinda lost in the shuffle, will get an opportunity to play regularly. If he can provide some kind of pop in the outfield, it'll be a good trade. Lincoln was excellent in the pen this year, but this was the first year he was anything more than blah, so it's not a huge loss (since they still have Hanrahan, Grilli, Hughes to give them a very good 1-2-3 bullpen combo).

killer_ewokGaby Sanchez is now a Pirate. Goodbye, Gorkys. LOL
