lol...two starts ago, also against the Cards, he did 6 shutout innings. Other than that, since the all-star break, he only had one quality start. And that was the minimum 6IP, 3ER (and he gave up 4 runs, but one was unearned). Utterly horrible.

    Well done pirates!!
  • killer_ewok
Maybe they have something left in the tank. It's not too late but they've got to keep it going now. Pitching might be back and Pedro is on a hot streak.

    Believe....
  • killer_ewok
J-Mac officially sucks again. Has given up 6 runs in 2 innings today. There was an error in the 1st by Alvarez so maybe only 5 will be charged to McDonald but still...

Brewers sweep the Pirates thanks to their 12-8 win today over the Buccos.

This really isn't the time of the year to be in a "one step forward, two steps back" mode. For over a month...

Bases loaded 0 outs for the Astros to start the game.

    Way to go, Jeff Locke!
  • killer_ewok
Locke shoulda got out of the inning without giving up a run but apparently Houston baserunners are allowed to run halfway to the outfield to avoid a tag which would have resulted in an inning-ending double play.

I don't know why I even bother to care. Same shit, different year. Completely in control of their own destiny entering August, completely fall off the map (even though it was their second straight year of being buyers at the deadline) during that month and September.

Now they get embarrassed at home against the worst team in baseball in a game where some piece of shit who hasn't been in the majors since 2009 schools them for six innings.

HEY GUYS!!! You'll never get rid of your culture of losing unless you actually, you know, start winning games that mean something in the clutch months!

    75-87. Count that as fact.

    Fucking bullshit...

Ugh. Just weeks ago there was no doubt that the .500 curse was over.

exciting time for tribe fans has arrived. Rooting against the Yankees is always fun. They may not make the playoffs. Now the added adrenaline rush...hoping Pittsburgh has another record setting losing season. :D

Yeah, but football season is just around the corner so that should put a damper on this "exciting time" for you guys.

We have no exciting times. Everyone knows this.

This is a train wreck that I refuse to continue to watch...

I've seen this movie too many times.

Yeah, it's kind of like Shawshank... If that movie ended with Andy getting pissed at the warden for disposing of the dude who could have cleared him...and then the warden just had him get raped for 30 minutes straight and the credits rolled.

Award-caliber film for 2/3 of it; non-stop rape scene for the final 1/3...

You said,"exciting time for tribe fans has arrived." I was saying that football season being just around the corner would put a damper on that exciting time you were speaking of. That's all.

Team won last night thanks to Holt, McCutchen and Wandy carrying them on their shoulders. They need to win today and then sweep the Cubs. If they can take advantage of these next few games with crap opponents, I'll think about taking back some of my recent pessimism. IF.
  • killer_ewok
Brock Holt looks like he's gonna be a pretty good player.
  • Heretic
lol...the way they are now, you could put a fucking downs kid out there and he'd both pitch a two-hitter and draw a walk against them.

    Just fucking pathetic...

After a 3.5 hour rain delay, they won last night to put off falling to .500 for two more days, at least!

Give Correia credit. Gave them their best start in some time, despite being the dude virtually no one wants in the rotation. Still, he's outlasted BADard and McDonald, who've been replaced by untested rookies as they try to make the playoffs.

And yes...that last sentence makes me sad. Particularly the part where they will have two untested rookies in the rotation the rest of the way in Locke and McPherson.
  • killer_ewok
McDonald should've been sent to the bullpen earlier IMO. It's not like those rookies could've done much worse. And if they would have...at least it's a different player sucking. J-Mac has been a human batting tee for a while now.

Yeah. The "problem" with that was probably St. Louis. He dominated them twice in between all his sucky starts, and since they're a decent team, they probably thought he was turning the corner both times, only for him to be even worse afterwards.

Another loss. Puts the pressure on tonight to see if they can stay above .500 or fall to that number.

Since the playoffs are pretty much a pipe dream now (a numerical possibility, but the way they've been playing for a month-and-a-half, not a real one), I have to find something to interest me. No matter how sad it is, considering what the hopes were a few weeks ago...
  • killer_ewok
Gotta finish .500 or better or this will be just another losing season.....which will include a pretty epic collapse.
