2012 Thread O' The Pittsburgh Pirates: SS/DY
-
GoPensWas at the game. Crazy how the Dodgers acted toward the umps all day. What a bunch of whiney bitches.
In minor league news, former first round pick Jameson Taillon was promoted to Altoona today. Maybe he can start next year at Indy and be promoted to the Pirates next season -
GoPensRaise it! Huge win in St. Louis over the Cards 2-1.
The Bucs needed a good pitching performance and J Mac delivered like he did before the All Star break.
Keep it up Bucs. Put some distance between you and the Cards this series. -
Midstate01Keep it going. I want st Louis as far back as possible. They're too scary down the stretch.
-
killer_ewokThat's huge if McDonald is back to his pre-AS break form. Gonna have to see similar efforts out of him a couple more times to believe that he is on the right track.

Considering you said this about the Reds, I'm assuming the Dodgers probably did absolutely nothing.GoPens;1249441 wrote:Was at the game. Crazy how the Dodgers acted toward the umps all day. What a bunch of whiney bitches. -
GoPens
Please find where I called the Reds whiney bitchesSportsAndLady;1249623 wrote:Considering you said this about the Reds, I'm assuming the Dodgers probably did absolutely nothing. -
GoPensMattingly suspended 2 games for acting like an ass.
-
killer_ewokMarte on DL, Tabata called up, leads off game with a hit.
-
GoPens2-2 in the 14th inning. Gonna be a long, late flight to San Diego after this one.
-
GoPensMake that the 17th inning...
-
killer_ewokBuccos win 6-3 in 19. Wandy picks up his first win. LOL
-
HereticReasons why 2012 is better than 2011 #348: Team not fucked over by bad call in their annual 500-inning game.
-
Midstate01Good job pirates!! Want st Louis as far back as possible!
-
GoPensIt is funny that the Jerry Meals game also was 19 innings.
-
RotinajNice series win for the pirates. Cards can lick my taint.
-
HereticSince Wandy pitched last night, looks like Justin Wilson will be making his major league debut, according to Yahoo.
Which means that if Volquez is wild for the Pads, this game could last for 10 hours, as Wilson's big negative against him is that he has bursts of wildness. I'd imagine the Pirates will be ecstatic to get 5 innings out of him (and then probably 2 from Watson and one each by Grilli and Hanrahan in a win...that'd be best-case scenario). -
AutomatikSo when can the Buccos clinch .500?
-
Heretic14 wins from .500; 15 from the streak of non-winning seasons ending.
Not that I'm counting or anything...lol. -
Automatik
lol....I knew someone had to have a countdown going. I remember last year when they "clinched" another losing season. I thought, "dammit that that was their shot!"Heretic;1250654 wrote:14 wins from .500; 15 from the streak of non-winning seasons ending.

I think they're gonna do it. -
HereticLost last night, but I'm not super surprised. A west coast night game the day after a 19-inning game...they seemed a bit out of it. McCutchen struck out twice in key situations with men on and two outs and striking out was an overall thing for the game, as that was about all they were doing.
Kyle McPherson and Justin Wilson combined for three scoreless innings in their major league debuts, so it wasn't all bad, though. -
GoPensHere we go again. G.I. Jones hits his second home run of the night in the 9th to send it to extra innings.
-
HereticUnfortunately, Clint Hurdle apparently things having guys like Qualls and No-Relation McCutchen taking the mound in high-leverage situations is a good idea. Fuck...
-
HereticTHEY ACTUALLY WON LAST NIGHT!!!!
Now get about 5 more in a row to start making up for how August has been the same month of futility that it's been for the majority of their 90-100 loss seasons. -
Gblocknice hit on molina at the plate last night set a good tone for the series. we should at least bean one player tonight if we get the lead since they did the same last night for a clean hit
-
killer_ewokJ-Mac with his best outing in...hell...I can't remember his last good game. LOL
