Ohio State should be able to beat Indiana in football even if Indiana got to choose 3 Buckeye players to rule ineligible for that game every season, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a completely stupid rule to have in place. But hey, if you can't go in without 3 players and beat the Hoosiers you don't deserve to play in the Big 10 championship game anyway, right?
Might be the worst analogy EVER.
Try this one...If a 9-1 Ohio State team can't go into Bloomington and kick a 5-5 Hoosiers team ass, then they don't derserve to go to the National Championship.

He's coming for you Tebow. :D

I don't know, the 2002 Browns/Steelers playoff game was Kelly Holcomb vs. Tommy Maddox...

Look up the word hyperbole. It wasn't meant to be taken as a direct comparison. It was an exaggeration to point out that just because something should be able to be accomplished anyway doesn't mean that there is justification for the rule to exist in the first place.

"They should be able to win anyway if they're the better team, so who cares?" is idiotic reasoning. Sorry that you focused more on the specifics of the hypothetical situation than the point of it.

But I'll stay on the topic of the game from now on. Clearly I'm Mugatu taking crazy pills over here and you guys all support the dumbest rule in sports outside of the all-star game determining home field advantage in baseball.

Too many language arts words being used....let's get back to football!

My Dad (palindrome) thinks the Steelers will win 23-13

But the question is, will he hit him legally

Yes, then help him up, kiss him on the helmet, kneel down into the "Tebow" with him and say a little prayer for baby penguins.

Steelers got banged up in the secondary on Sunday.

    They'll re-sign Anthony Madison.

    Rather have his brother Billy

    Sign Rod Woodson

Mendenhall officially out for the playoffs.

Mendenhall with a torn ACL. It is now confirmed.

Cortez Allen was starting to play well, especially covering in the slot. Keenan Lewis also suffered a hamstring injury.

They may be able to get past Denver but that's not great news if they end up in New England.

Madison was mostly a special teamer but covered in slot primarily when he played on defense. This will be his fourth stint with the Steelers. He was on the Super Bowl winning team in 2008 and last year's team.

Mulva is 100% correct. A team shouldnt get a home game based on div.chmp. alone. It is one of those rare things in sports that is just illogical. Which is usually not the case. Most rules in sports are based on logic. This doesn't follow. You could say it's the reward for winning the division but even then it doesn't add up bc the reward for winning a division is auto bid.

I've been calling for more Redman all year.

But maybe it's a situation where you should be careful what you wish for.

Can't put the ball on the ground like that.

If he hangs onto the ball, I think there's a chance Redman will elevate the team. He doesn't have Mendenhall's breakaway speed but he picks up a lot more tough yards and he plays with a chip on his shoulder because he came out of nowhere. He's hungry. Might be the right guy for our offense with Ben banged up going into the playoffs.

I think his bout with fumblitis is a good thing.....1. The Broncos will try to strip him and he's a tough tackle. 2. He never fumbled so he it wasn't a thought....he won't have any focus issues now.

Put in for the Commish job and change the rule then. Until then deal with it. The players, coaches, owners and teams must be ok with the set-up because I don't hear them QQing about it like some on here.

[/h][h=6]‎:Just want to thank Steeler Nation for all the love and support on the quest for 1000. Want to also thank all the guys who threw me the ball: Mike Tomczak, Kordell Stewart, Pete Gonzalez, Kent Graham, Tommy Maddox, Charlie Batch, Byron Leftwich, Dennis Dixon, Jerome Bettis, Cedrick Wilson, Antwann Randle El, Emmanuel Sanders, and Big Ben. Thanks guys! Now let's go for another ring! HINES[/h]

Jerome never threw him one? The HB toss and pass made an appearance a few times down near the end zone when Bettis still played.

LOL. He is. Guess I should have read more carefully.

The Steelers need to control the tempo of the game. Which usually means one team tries to slow down the pace of the game, however I think Pittsburgh needs to speed the game up.

Remember after the first Baltimore game and all the "experts" said that the Steelers defense was too old and too slow?? That old, slow defense once again finished 1st in the NFL in yardage and points allowed.

Not a good sign for Tebow.
