He doesn't think it but he's praying that he's gone.

Mort just reported that Fujita has a potential career ending neck injury.

Can't help but be happy about the key injuries to the ravens defense!

In the "C'mon, man?" department....some fool started a "playoffs" thread over on the OBR...Where's Jim Mora?

He's played pretty solidly, but with him being 29 he's not a franchise QB, IMO.

    Define a "franchise QB?"

Someone who will lead your team for 8-10 years. He doesn't have the skillset IMO

How old was Elway when he retired? I think he was 37 or 38 when he was done? Weeden just turned 30 so if he gives 7-8yrs of solid QB he's worth it. Peyton Manning is another example from 99-2010...I'm not saying Weeden will produce like those guys but if he can give anywhere from 5-8 yrs of being a solid QB that's good with me.

^ totally agree. 5 to 7 years is 5 more years than any since our return.

Also ad to head about fujita stand up man. Horrible way to go out

Where on earth did I say that?

I love how everyone acts like I'm some big bad Browns fan becuase I don't like a front office move we made.

"Oh, you don't like taking a 29 year old QB with a first round pick? To the pits of Browns fanhood you go!!!"

Which is hilarious because that is getting all of these guys so excited...it's like Browns fans are so used to absolute dog shit QB, that someone gets in their who is decent and they ejaculate all over themselves.

I mean I get it..it's nice to have a somewhat respectable offense; but think big picture of the franchise, not just right now in this abysmal season.

A good point was brought up over on the OBR and after thinking about it, I agree. This team does remind me of the 1985 Browns...a bunch of young, wide eyed rookies/young guys (with a sprinkling of vets) that you actually are starting to get excited to watch. Hope they grow into a team like that.

At some point you got to get over it.

LOL...you and your "franchise/elite QB" wishes.

Do you know how often an elite QB comes down the pipe? I get this impression that you'll only settle for that "elite" status and you do only realize there are only 6, of 32 teams, with elite QB's in this league.

Get over what? I can't have, and maintain an opinion on an NFL player? lol

It's hilarious how 90% of people on here hated the pick when it happened. Then a week after the draft they were cool with the pick.

Have some balls and stand behind what you really thought.

It's not about finding an elite QB, it's about finding a good franchise QB.

These are the franchise QB's I see:

Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Mannings Bros, Flacco, Ryan, Roethlisberger. If you said Rivers and Romo you probably wouldn't get an argument from me. Luck and RGIII look like franchise QBs. That's 12/30 QBs with arguments that could probably be made for maybe a couple more, hardly a rarity.

Do you see Weeden being able to play at the level of those guys? I don't. Which means that with him being 29, it was a f*cking terrible pick. If you are not sure if a QB can be a franchise QB but he's 21, 22 that's one thing because maybe a guy struggles for a few years before finding a groove (see Alex Smith).

There's a legitimate 2-3 learning curve for most NFL QB's, and if that means that our QB is going to be 32 when he becomes actually "dangerous" or whatever analogous term for useful you want to use, then I'm sorry but that's too f*cking old.

In the case of Eli, Ryan, Flacco, Rivers & Romo, definitely YES. Give Weeden Matt Ryan & Eli's receivers and his stats would be ridiculous.

He's not going to need that "curve." Given the weapons he'll be ready to rock out of the gate next year. If they get a solid 5 years out of Weeden, that will be enough.

Fine, that's where we disagree. But at least we (you and I) know where the disagreement is so I know it's a waste of our time to continue arguing about it when it's obvious we're just going to have to agree to disagree about Weeden's skillset.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora And Haslam is bringing ex-Eagles team president Joe Banner w/him ... Teams could vote on a 3-day "tampering" window at start of free agency

    According to Grossi,

Lerner and Holmgren are absent from the Owner's meeting today...Bryan Wiedmeier, vice president of business is standing in for the old regime.

My point was everyone knows your opinion on it, you don't need to harp it with every post the way you did about McCoy. Tried of reading about it, also you go on about only 5-6 yr window with Weeden, I would just like to point out the longest ANY qb has lasted on the Browns rosters....4 seasons. I agree with you, did not like the Weeden pick. However, no denying he's better than McCoy and Wallace. Better than DumbAss or Quinn, etc... I know that's not saying much, and going back in time would I make the pick still? I wouldn't. But you got to move on from bitching about the draft pick and not liking the guy. He's playing well IMO outside of his first game.
