BR1986FBJust saw a stat which shows how much this offense has opened up. In 2011, the Browns had 32 pass plays that went for 20+ yards. Through 6 games in 2012, they have 23. It's nice to see we have at least one receiver (Gordon) who can stretch the field.

I just think they will get more & more confident with success. The second half of the season I could see them gelling and doing well. Both the Steelers & Ravens will be beatable in those matchups. The main "X Factor" that could hold them back is Shurmur.like_that;1295684 wrote:Pretty damn bold.
Here's the remaining schedule:
@ Colts-
H Chargers-
H Ravens-
BYE
@ Cowboys-
H Steelers-
@ Oakland
H Chiefs-
H Redskins-
@ Broncos-
@ Steelers-
I can see wins against the Colts, Raiders & Chiefs with possibilities against Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Dallas & maybe Washington. -

Are you going to cross off "The Fumble" and pencil in "The missed block by Slaughter"?BR1986FB;1294822 wrote:I want this shirt...

10 or 11 would make me feel good, because that means playoffs. Anything less than 8 or 9 would be pretty sad and mean the whole front office and HC are fired.like_that;1295661 wrote:At this point in the season, how many wins would make you feeling good/satisfied at the end of the year?
I think Benjamin can stretch the field as well.BR1986FB;1295687 wrote:Just saw a stat which shows how much this offense has opened up. In 2011, the Browns had 32 pass plays that went for 20+ yards. I agree but can he stay on the field?Commander of Awesome;1295713 wrote:I think Benjamin can stretch the field as well. -

BR1986FBNot sure if it was mentioned on the Browns/Bengals game thread but one small thing that may have been overlooked was the play of John Greco. Pinkston went down with an injury and Grego came in and excelled. I'd like to see him get more playing time as I think he's better than either Pinky or Lauvao.

Lol you mad bro? Upset weeden is looking the part of a good qb and you were wrong or the fact that your boy genome Smith showed his true colors against Texas tech? Face it weeden is here to stay. Crimson streakI think in about 2 years weedon will be about what Shaub is. Not great but a solid qb. If we build a very good defense and get 2 guards on the line and a vet possession receiver we will be very good for years. Build the team like the texans run the ball and use the offense based off the running game with t rich. I honestly feel we're not that far away. We need another corner a safety olb pass rushing de and 2 guards. If we draft right and use free agency we could be looking at the playoffs either next year or 2 years.

BR1986FBPeter King's MMQB...worth a full read. Blurbs on Shurmur and a very interesting piece on Pittsburgh's "aging defense"....

BR1986FBNo real reason for posting this but I thought some might like to see a comparison of the rookies:
Andrew Luck: 1488 yards, 7 TD, 7 INT, (1 RUSH TD) - 72.0 Quarterback Rating - 2-3 Record
Robert Griffin III: 1343 yards, 5 TD, 2 INT, (6 RUSH TD) - 100.5 Quarterback Rating - 3-3 Record
Ryan Tannehill: 1454 yards, 4 TD, 6 INT, (1 RUSH TD) - 76.5 Quarterback Rating -3-3 Record
Brandon Weeden: 1519 yards, 7 TD, 10 INT, (0 RUSH TD) - 68.4 Quarterback Rating - 1-5 Record
Russell Wilson: 1108 yards, 8 TD, 6 INT, (0 RUSH TD) - 86.5 Quarterback Rating - 4-2 Record -
MulvaTannehill has been better than I expected. I thought he was gonna be a major project.

Off topic but just to show how much bullshit the QB rating is, Andy Dalton had a higher QBR than Weeden yesterday with 3 picks. -
royal_kThis class of QBs may turn out to be something special.

BR1986FBScott Petrak ct ‏ @ ScottPetrak # Browns Shurmur: It wasn't always pretty, way too many three-and-outs. but as i've said all along, it's about points, not yards.
Scott Petrak ct ‏ @ ScottPetrak # Browns Shurmur on 7 straight possessions w/out a 1st down: We were calling bad plays and not executing them.
Scott Petrak ct ‏ @ ScottPetrak # Browns Shurmur said found right combination of plays, offense found rhythm when finally got on track after bad stretch of offense.
Scott Petrak ct ‏ @ ScottPetrak # Browns Shurmur said when he's talked about progress in past, it was easy for people to roll their eyes until we won a game.
Scott Petrak ct ‏ @ ScottPetrak # Browns Shurmur said QB Weeden has gotten a lot more comfortable in his progressions and getting the ball out on time.
Scott Petrak ct ‏ @ ScottPetrak # Browns Shurmur noncommittal on whether DT Phil Taylor (torn pec) will come off PUP this week. "We'll get him going here soon."
Scott Petrak ct ‏ @ ScottPetrak # Browns Shurmur said he received congratulatory text from owner Randy Lerner. Said they've been texting frequently
Scott Petrak ct ‏ @ ScottPetrak # Browns Shurmur said next step for young team is to show consistency, win more games.
At least Shurmur acknowledged they were calling bad plays and adjusted. -

Haha he wins his first NFL game 6 games into the season and now all of a sudden he's here to stay...thanks for the laugh I needed that one today. Do you really think Weeden is going anywhere anytime soon with the way he has played???
