Stand around twiddling his thumbs unless they get someone to throw him the ball. :D

I get it, you like blackmon. We have different opinions.

    FIFY

If we take him I hope you're right. I think he'll be a good WR but I dont see great.

As much as I want Blackmon, they better have QB addressed first

Agreed. I have no issue with Blackmon if that grab someone like Flynn in FA but if Blackmon slides and RG3 is also on the board at #4, I'll be furious if they pass on QB and go RB. I think a shitload of the fan base will be too.

Thinking about it, I don't see any scenario that would piss me off with this draft. Even if we drafted Blackmon, we would have a stud playmaker that would be there for years. The qb situation will work itself out this year regardless. I think McCoy will come into training camp pissed that he lost his job essentially. Give him an offseason, and some playmakers and it's going to loook like a different McCoy.

^^ either way this is a good draft for talent. its either RGIII, blackmon, claiborne, or trade down a few spots. the only way im absolutely pissed off is if the go richardson with the 4th pick. like br said the fan base will very upset.

If they don't sign Hillis, that may show which way they are leaning.

I still don't think they take Richardson at 4. If they trade down, maybe.

With their past practice, this could be a real possibility. If they could acquire more picks, they may do this.

That's the ONLY way I seem them doing that. Richardson at 4 is way too high and I know Heckert targets players, not necessarily BPA, but he's also smart enough to know that there's no value in taking him at 4.

[h=1]The first Robert Griffin to Browns trade rumor emerges[/h] Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 17, 2012, 1:20 PM EST
AP The Browns need a quarterback badly. They own the No. 4 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
Browns coach Pat Shurmur already made some positive comments about Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, so it was only a matter of time before a report emerged connecting the Browns to Griffin with something more tangible than speculation.
As part of NFL.com’s ridiculously early mock draft party on Tuesday, Steve Wyche projects the Browns will trade up with the Rams for the No. 2 overall pick to take Griffin.
“Cleveland needs Griffin — and wants him, according to league sources,” Wyche writes.
He points out that the Browns have the most ammo of any team looking to move up, and the Rams would probably like to move down but stay in the top five.
This is all way too early, but it makes a lot of sense. It makes so much sense that we expect to hear some variation of this rumor on a regular basis until late April.

It would take both 1st rounders. Is he worth the chance? That's the dilemma.

If the front office feels he's "the guy" you do it.

Yes, Yes, a million times yes.

After watching this guy more than possibly any other college football player in the past year, I think his absolute floor is a slightly better Aaron Brooks and his ceiling is a faster Aaron Rodgers.

Sorry I just don't see how giving up our first rounder to move up 2 spots is worth it. This team needs all the picks they need to get. RGIII has nobody to throw to in this scenario. I would be more happy with taking their chances of having RGIII drop to them, and then taking him and a WR in the first round.

If it's luck, then yeah i would do it in a heartbeat. Maybe we could give up a 2nd rounder for the pick? In this case they will still swap spots (be at #4), and they could possibly look to trade down once again and get more picks. I doubt that happens, but I just don't see how giving up the first rounder is worth it.

I love how people think that if they trade up they won't be able to get any weapons. There's free agency and let's say they have to trade #4 & #22 to move up....they are still going to probably have 10-12 draft picks to use after comp picks are doled out.

If the franchise thinks he's the guy and convinced he wont fall then I say you have to do it. I'm tired of not having a QB. The thing is, if you swing for it, you have to connect. If you miss on a guy like that early in the first then people are fired. Plain and simple. I have my own reservations about RG3, and will be very interested to see his combine numbers. Particularly his height. No doubt the guy has what it takes between the ears, just wonder if he has the physical tools and if the Browns are willing to change their offense to fit his strengths. So far the Browns haven't shown the willingness to do that. Obviously I would prefer the browns get him at 4 (if thats the path we take) but it may be shake out that way.

I never said we can't get weapons, but you know as well as I know that they are not going to sign a legit wr threat in FA, especially after that press conference. Also I don't see us having 12 picks lol, but even if we do get comp picks, they will be 6th or 7th rounders. The team has a lot of needs, the trade raping fell in their laps last year, they need to use that pick on something other than moving up 2 slots.

I still want no part of giving up that other pick to move up for RG3. Way too many holes on this team to do that.

Exactly. If they do though, as CoA said, they better know they will be making the right move.
  • SportsAndLady
They trade up to get rg3 I might flip. NO FUCKIN WAY do you move up to get a QB, unless you already have the pieces in place around him...aka the Jets when they moved up to get Sanchez. The Browns aren't even close to start trading their picks away for one position to be set--well, until that pick busts.

I heard today the price might not be as high as anticipated. The Rams are believed to want to stay in the top 5 and the Browns are the only ones who can do that. Hearing that there's a good chance the Browns will be able to keep the #22 pick but may have to give up #4, a 2nd and possibly a later round pick.
  • wes_mantooth
I guess my theory is that there is so many glaring weaknesses that we can get something at #4 that we desperately need...whether it is a QB, WR, or RB. The more I think about it, the more I would be ok with them trading back a couple of spots if the deal is sweet enough(not out of the top 8 though). Before, I would have been pissed about trading back....but I am warming up to the idea.
