The Hawks behind T Mac are going to beat them in Miami tonight.
Zone defense seems the best way to beat them still, slow the game down and control tempo. DWade laid an egg tonight as well and hasn't seemed 100% so far this year.

Schedule makers must love the Celtics, they got to play the Wizards in back to back nights.

He would be. That wasn't my point. My point is, he's 21. If this passes, those talents could turn into a superstar. Many stars had issues at an early age. That was my argument in taking him over Turner. Turner is the anti-thesis of Cousins in many ways...but one of those ways, despite the negatives against DeMarcus (which are the positives for Turner), isn't being a better player.

Maybe I'll eat my words on this, but I feel strongly about it. Go big or go home...the Sixers went conservative and will end up settling.

Taking the national player of the year is going conservative? Is that waht you are trying to say?

You gotta kind of agree. It was pretty much the same across the board from the experts that Turner had kind of plateaued. Cousins had a higher ceiling, as did a few others.

I never saw the huge upside in Cousins, so maybe I'm just looking at this biasedly (pretty sure that's not a word..)

I mean sure, he's a talent. But with how fucking nuts the guy is, and how many big men fail in the NBA...I was more a fan of the Turner pick for the Sixers.

I still think ET is going to be a good player for the Sixers.

I haven't seen Turner play enough to really judge his performance. That being said looking at his stats I would have thought he'd be putting up better numbers than he has thus far.

Cousins was drafted at age 19. Turner was 22. That alone, in basketball terms, limits your potential. Cousins came in without discipline and a body that was not in-shape at all and by the end of the season was still the best big man in college basketball.

Now, whether he will ever "get it" and make ammends for the question marks is another thing, but talent-wise, I'm not sure how anyone could say they didn't see the potential.

Like I said, I might be wrong, but I'd rather draft the head case with talent over a limited-upside player who plays a position you already have covered 3-fold on the roster. This is, of course, you are already a contending team who is filling a specific role to compete for a title. The Sixers were not doing that...hence, the reason they were drafting in the top 5.

Cousins has the physical potential to be a top 10 NBA big man. His ceiling is much higher than Turners.

I couldn't even name 10 good big men...big men being centers. Its not a center dominant league

Exactly. But I was including PF. Top 10 might be a stretch, but Cousins has crazy talent.

Mullens has really turned the corner in terms of his confidence, playing very well tonight as he has all season.
  • SportsAndLady
    Top 10 4 or 5? You're fuckin crazy dynasty

^ I actually think it's valid. Cousins has all the tools to get there.
