    If he plays, Indianapolis.

Can I make a "609 dook-type prediction" and not be ridiculed for it later?
The Jets trade the farm for P. Manning and both brothers end up in New York.

Totally a guess what team he's traded to, I just think he's getting traded.

These things happen. Not much surprises me anymore.

I'll take the Chargers by 12.

Colts. No doubt about it even if they grab Luck. Expect Luck not to play for 2-3 years after he's drafted.

If the Colts draft Luck and Manning comes back I see Luck traded or the pick traded on draft day. No way I see them wasting a pick on a gut who they'll sit when they have other needs. Colts will be in "win now" mode and can fix some glaring holes with all of those draft picks while they still have a "window' to get back to the SB.

    No.

    Hope this helps.

I would tend to disagree on this. Luck sits for 2 years IF Mannings stays healthy that whole time. I am about 70/30 thinking this way.

Manning is only there if the Colts decide the next 3 years are worth trading the next 13 for.

The best thing for the franchise long term is to draft and play Luck.

The best thing for the next 2-3 years is to keep Manning and draft someone that can make an immediate impact.

This is a really tough spot they are in, but I don't see how you pass on Luck to try and make a last 2-3 year push with Manning knowing he is one neck injury from retirement at every waking moment.

    Exactly. If he plays.

We both agreed on one of the MANY threads about Peyton that this neck surgery could end his career. In my opinion, it should. This is almost the same thing that happened to Moose Johnston. Call it quits Peyton...your life isn't worth coming to an awful team and getting lit up. Your life isn't worth the $$$ on the playing field. Go be an analyst or coach or father/husband.

Sounds like his old man is laying the ground work for a divorce down the line.

I can't imagine the Colts passing on Luck, and the tone of the article seems to suggest that Peyton isn't anymore interested in grooming his successor than Favre was when Rodgers was picked.

With that balloon payment Peyton is due it sounds like the shit is going to hit the fan one way or the other in March.

He'll go to New England and mentor Brady.
  • dazedconfused
colts have to part ways with him. smart move is to draft luck and cut ties with peyton (due to the ridiculous cap hits the next few years). i'd say either miami or washington would be a good landing spot for him
  • Laley23
Ive been saying from the beginning to take Luck even with Manning healthy. Play him for a year and trade him or just trade him. You will be able to get a big haul of picks for him. Not as much as for the #1 pick this year, but still a big haul...

i hope they trade manning and luck falls flat on his face.

Whatever the case may be, Peyton will handle the whole thing with more grace than Favre did.

I would like to believe this...but if (and you know it'll happen) Archie gets involved, there will be very little grace.

I won't put nothing past the Manning's after the Eli draft debacle.

Draft Luck, and sit him behind Peyton next year, if Peyton plays. It's kinda a win-win for the Colts. If Peyton comes back and has a great year, he'll bring a haul in the trade market, if Manning has a down year, you already have the heir apparent. I don't see any way that the Colts don't draft Luck.

It's because Eli is retarded, have you heard him speak?

I'd like to know what the Colts fans think if the choice is either / or.

Also, Eli was still young enough where his dad (a former NFL QB) would have a lot of sway not only because it's his dad... but his history in the league. Peyton is old enough and distinguished enough himself to think more for himself.

Laley is the only colts fan I know of.

While I wish this were true...I won't think for a minute that Archie won't butt-in any moment that he can.
