NBA Free Agency

Saw that. Kerr was dead-on and now New Orleans is probably not getting anything back for Paul once he leaves for free agency. Smart move guys (Stern and Gilbert)ts1227;1013153 wrote:Steve Kerr essentially calls Dan Gilbert a bitch over whining about the proposed Lakers trade that was inexplicably blocked

By the way, since when did Gilbert become somebody who knows anything about equal trades? His bad moves far outweigh his good moves. -
Hb31187I think Irving is gonna be a damn good PG, kinda excited to see how he performs first year. He should be about 15-20 ppg and 7 assists or so id guess

Yeah, he'll have a solid year. But IMO, next year is going to be his break out year.
I mean in all honesty, the Cavs are looking at another top 5 pick. And there will be some studs coming out. He will definitely be helped by that. -
Commander of AwesomeI think 20 and 7 is high expectations.

Maybe a little high, but I think hes more than capable of it. Maybe closer to 15 and 7(about what John wall averaged his rookie year)Commander of Awesome;1013570 wrote:I think 20 and 7 is high expectations. -

Yeah they'll probably be lookin at another lottery pick and maybe theyll pick up an athletic wing player(like Harrison Barnes or something along those lines) Paired with Thompson and Irving that should be a solid young corewildcats20;1013569 wrote:Yeah, he'll have a solid year. SportsAndLadyI'm actually hoping for a top 5 pick. I want them to have one of those years where they are exciting to watch and are in most of their games, but just not enough talented depth to win many games...that'd be the perfect season.
It's just too hard in the NBA to have average seasons and expect to win championships..as a small market team, you have to have 2-4 consecutive terrible seasons to build through the draft w/ top 10 picks. -
Crimson streakIrving with Harrison Barnes could down the road be like a Westbrook Durante type combo. I really really want Barnes. I think he will be a complete stud in the nba.

Reps, I agree with this entire post and am also rooting for a competitive season but coming up short record-wiseSportsAndLady;1013654 wrote:I'm actually hoping for a top 5 pick. wildcats20The NBA and Under Armour have reached an agreement.
When I first read this, I thought it meant they were the new supplier for NBA merchandise/jerseys. Turns out the agreement is just so the UA sponsored players can wear their NBA team's uni/logos in ads and what not. Whew. -
wildcats20And supposedly the Lakers are trying to put together another package for CP3, with Pau as the key guy.
-
Commander of AwesomeThis CP3 stuff is ridiculous. Let me know when something is approved.

Commander of Awesome[h=3]Nene, Nuggets Agree To Five-Year, $67M Contract[/h]Dec 13, 2011 10:12 PM EST The Nuggets and Nene have reached agreement on a five-year contract that will pay him up to $67 million.
The Nets were also pursuing Nene but may be focusing their attention on trying to swing a trade for Dwight Howard who has requested that the Magic deal him to New Jersey.

SportsAndLadyIs Nene that good? I always thought there just were no good centers anymore (outside of like 2) and since Nene was "pretty good" he was considered better than what he really is
I really didn't watch too many Nuggets games though, so probably wrong. -
Commander of AwesomeBigs are hard to come by, especially bigs that can score and stay healthy. Since they're rare players theyre always overvalued/over paid. Trust me, when you watch Anderson Varejao play center this year, you'll wish we had a player like Nene on our roster.

I think he is. Outside of Gasol, Duncan and Howard, I can't really think of any good true centers in the league.SportsAndLady;1014376 wrote:Is Nene that good? SportsAndLadyAl Jefferson is a beast
-
Commander of AwesomeMarc Gasol, Al Hortford (though playing out of position), Emecka Okafor (low end but a solid center), Tyson Chandler also come to mind.

Duncan isn't a center.sleeper;1014411 wrote:I think he is. Outside of Gasol, Duncan and Howard, I can't really think of any good true centers in the league. -
sleeperAdding all those guys up, Nene is still a top 10 center. That's worthy of his pay day.

Portland could extract as many as 3 draft picks for Gerald Wallace in possible multi-team Nets deal for Dwight Howard, league sources say. -

I LOVE this move. Getting him back is huge for us. When hes healthy ( knee injury, cancer and other small injuries have kept em out) hes very productive, post moves, rebounds and can finish with either hand. Not too many big men in thel eague anymore you can dump the ball down to and theyre a true center, but he is. After Melo left he really improved, probably bc Melo was taking the majority of the shots and they werent feeding him much. I thought for sure a big market team was gonna snatch him up because there had been rumblings that he and the Nuggets front office were butting heads when trying to come to terms with a deal.Commander of Awesome;1014365 wrote:Nene, Nuggets Agree To Five-Year, $67M Contract

chicago510CP3 to the LAC finally.
NO gets: Gordon, Kaman, Aminu, 1st rounder
LAC gets: CP3 and 2 2nd rounders
Going to be super awkward with CP3 in Staples but on the OTHER team...
