Cleveland Browns @ Oakland Raiders: Week 6
-
BR1986FBWell...let's get this one started.
No faith in the guys getting it done this week. McFadden should run wild.
Thoughts? -
DeyDurkie5I thought before the season this would most likely be a loss, and I'm sticking to that. MCfadden is going to get 300 yards
-
BR1986FBHopefully Shurmur gets his brain out of his ass and realizes the Raiders have the 24th ranked run defense, giving up 122/ypg, and doesn't put Hillis in cold storage. That's the Browns only chance to hang in this, imo.
-
BGFalcons82^^^^ Not so fast. Houston's Arian Foster rushed for 68 yds on 22 carries yesterday and over half of that total came on his first run of the day. The Raiders' D can be sieve-like, but they also have a mountain of talent. Teams that run well on them also have a passing game. Think Hillis will be over his strep in time for kickoff?

Don't care about the Raiders "talent." They CAN be run on...history has proven it.BGFalcons82;928654 wrote:^^^^ Not so fast. dwccrewRaiders in a close one.
-
royal_kI agree they need to run the ball first, and Oakland can be run on. But hopefully they used the week off to get better in their pass protection, the WRs getting separation, and Colt getting the ball out quicker. Because your not gonna win many games throwing 4 and 5 yard passes.
-
BR1986FB
I think that "WR's getting separation" ship has done sailed. They are who we thought they were and "they" (WR's) suck.royal_k;928689 wrote:I agree they need to run the ball first, and Oakland can be run on. Commander of AwesomeI have the browns lossing this one. Run DMC & Michael Bush punishing the Browns on the ground. With Haden out I expect Heyward Bey or Moore to embarrass us for a long one as well. Raiders by 12.
-
WriterbuckeyeIf Haden and Mack are both out, this won't be close. The OL is horrid enough, let alone if you take out the guy who calls the offensive line plays. And Haden? Well, let's just say we've got nobody even close to his level who can stop a top receiver.
-
bigdaddy2003Raiders win but I'm not sure by how much.

Watching other league games yesterday made me depressed because of how horrible our WR's are....I don't think any of our so called WR's would see the field on another NFL team...MoMass might rotate and maybe Little but those are the only two.BR1986FB;928707 wrote:I think that "WR's getting separation" ship has done sailed. If Haden and Mack are out we lose....simple as that.
Message to Shurmur: You are allowed to use everyone that is in a uniform on Sunday...don't be affraid to sub guys in and out. If Hillis starts like he did against the Titans leave him in there!!! Please get Evan Moore more touches, you paid him...now play him! One last thing, atleast attempt to throw the ball over 10 yards.
We will see how good our front 7 is if we can stop the running attack. -
dazedconfusedthis one will not be fun
-
like_thatNormally a bye week is a great advantage, but it won't be for the Browns.
-
BR1986FB
Yep. Expect them to come out flat, with a crapton of penalties like Shurmur made no adjustments whatsoever.like_that;928875 wrote:Normally a bye week is a great advantage, but it won't be for the Browns. -
like_thatAt least the Falcons aren't doing too well so far this season. The Browns have that going for them at least.
-
like_thatESPN just showed the raiders post game locker room celebration. Very emotional with the passing of Al Davis. Just another reason why the Browns are not going to win. The Raiders are going to carry that emotion and make it to the playoffs. Mark it down. First home game after Davis passed away, just not going to happen for the Browns.

Was thinking the same thing about Oakland being at home this weekend. First the Titans coach dies now this.like_that;928883 wrote:ESPN just showed the raiders post game locker room celebration. Browns hc Shurmur said Greg little will start at the X receiver spot.

I think our run game will really suffer with our best blocker no longer in the starting line up.BR1986FB;928952 wrote:@MaryKayCabot Mary Kay Cabot

Shurmur said that was part of the plan too.dazedconfused;929016 wrote:now just get evan moore in there -

I always thought the issue with Moore was that he can't block. Thus he's pretty much only in obv passing downs/redzone. So unless he learns how to block/or Glasshos shores up the RT spot, I'm not sure I see this realistically happening.BR1986FB;929025 wrote:Shurmur said that was part of the plan too. -

Then why give the guy a big contract if he only plays 10-12 plays a game? Makes no sense...Put him in the slot and let him create mismatches for you.Commander of Awesome;929037 wrote:I always thought the issue with Moore was that he can't block.
