Full NBA Season in Jeopardy?

  • Little Danny
I guess you can file this under the category of "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

Would anyone be too upset if the basketball season is shortened? Remember when the NFL lockout was going on people were talking about escalated crime rates, increased domestic violence, additional harm to the economy and people going into the depression. You don't hear any of that in regards to the NBA.

I would be. I love the NBA. Might be my favorite pro sport league though I'm a much bigger Browns fan.

I am the opposite, i think the NBA game is boring. Much rather watch football, college bball or even baseball.

People always say that they wouldnt care, and I know i wouldnt, but I think the NBA did very good in attendance and ratings last year so some people are watching and going.

I havent watched much since Jordan retired myself.

I wouldnt really care if it was cancelled, but iw ould feel bad for all the little people who need that business to survive. The workers at the arena's, restaurants in the area, etc. THOSE who aer whom I would feel bad for.

Wouldnt miss the game itself though

I'd miss it a little, but I'm a bigger college bball fan anyway so it wouldn't be too huge of a loss. If the Cavs were better I'd be more concerned.

Would I be devastated? Not at all, because I prefer the NCAA game more and I cant fill time with a bit more hockey. But I would certainly be disappointed as basketball is by far my favorite sport and the NBA is the second best to watch for it. I enjoy just turning on a basketball game in the winter time and if there is no college game on, I will go NBA before NHL or anything else.

You must be really upset with the WNBA season drawing to a close.:(

Personally, I could care less because I'm not a fan of the NBA.

you could care less? how much less? Personally I couldn't care less.

Eh, wouldn't be too upset. It will make the wait for the WNBA season to start seem that much longer.

The NBA is not real basketball...so I would not miss it in the least.

If the Cavs were supposed to have a good season, I would care. Since they are not, It wouldn't bug me going a season without watching them suck. Besides, this just means lebron will go another year without a title lol.

Now cue the cleveland trolls/former lbj haters who are now supporters to post something about how Cleveland fans need to get over it.

I think lately the NBA has become more entertaining and interesting than it was five-ten years ago. I would miss it. I'm one of the few who can turn on a random game and watch it. But I know the game is full of malformations that turn people away.
BTW, I would have loved to have seen Wade yell at Stern. I hate David Stern.

I will miss watching Irving play for them.

You said NBA was second best to watch, obviously that puts WNBA number 1. Weak on my part. Fail. pwn. Sorry.
  • dazedconfused
i'd miss it but it's not like we'd be missing out on the nfl. probably won't even notice until after the super bowl and even then i can get by with hockey, college basketball and baseball (if they lose the whole season)

Steve Nash wrote an "anonymous" article for ESPN Player-X a few months in which he said not only will there be no season this year, but there probably won't be one next year either. He said the owners and players were WAY farther apart than the media is leading everyone to believe.

How do you know that was Steve Nash?

We can only pray that this is true.

I got linked from another message board to PHXSuns.net about a week before the article came out, and one of the top guys there had posted it as a blog from Steve Nash. I'm not positive of it, but it seemed pretty believable at the time.

Nash has long been rumored to be Player X, so that wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I hope this does get resolved and maybe 2-4 weeks of the regular season is canceled at the minimum.... I order the NBA League Pass every year so I'd definitely miss not having the NBA to watch
