Yep I knew what I was getting into when I chose that major but I took the risk and I have faith that OU's great Sports Management program will help me find a job.

If they can sign with teams in other countries, I am sure they can start their own little league.

The only thing the NBA is good for is helping me withdrawal from the end of the Stanley Cup Finals. I get to see at least the last few games of some type of championship series. And last years games were pretty entertaining.

I guess it's good for one other thing too. Railing against LeBrons bitch a$$. They should cancel every season and then when NHL ends have the Heat play a seven game series against some team so we can at least see Lebron fail.

As an NHL fan I hope the NBA season is cancelled. It would help draw more fans in the states to hockey.

f i were the nfl, the moment the nba announces that the christmas day games are cancelled, i'd move two games over from christmas eve immediately. might as well capitalize on the nba's absence (hell i think you could put on oakland/kc and sf/sea and probably garner better ratings than the nba would have)

with the breakdown of talks yesterday, looks like a long spell before any nba games played. Couldn't be happier. Was hoping the whole season would get scrapped...and it may yet. Would be great to see how all these prima donnas react when the season gets cancelled and nobody cares. I feel bad for the the guys on the complete bottom end of the pay scale, and the guys at the arenas making minimum wage selling cokes. Am guessing a lot of the middle to top tier players who, in spite of making millions essentially live check to check because they have no money sense, will be "feeling it" sooner rather than later.

I don't feel bad for the idiots who don't have any money sense. I could care less if the season is canceled, that will just mean I don't have to watch another shitty season of the Cavs, and they will get a top pick. The people I feel bad for are the people who work at the arenas, or for the organization and are not making the type of money that top execs make.

How about Bryant "Hey Look at Me" Gumball dragging out the old "The Owners are like Plantation Overseers who want to keep the black man down" argument? First of all I'm highly suspicious Gumble is black to begin with and secondly for anyone to compare Multi-Millionaire Cry Baby Turds to the horrors of slavery is beyond reprehensible and should be removed from any legit forum of sports journalism. I'd hope somebody with half a brain cans this asshole from his HBO gig.

anything to get Bryant Gum-ball off the air for good would be a great 1st move.

Having no money sense isnt exclusive to the NBA>

Local kid got drafted in the NFL last year. He said that some of the rookies he knew immediatly starting spending money out the arse and some even spent more than what they can expect to make in their first year in the NFL...and that is if they even make the team!

I dont care about the NBA either, but if there is no season it will hurt alot of people who need those events to make a living.

NBA canceling two more weeks. Might as well make it 'til Christmas at least.
  • GOONx19
No way they play this season. It won't end until the owners give in.

the owners won't give in - they don't need to

I was gonna ask if he meant the players. The owners are the ones who don't give a shit if the whole season is missed.
  • Hb31187
The players dont give a fuck either, its not like the NFL where they cant go play anywhere else. The players can go make just as much money playing int he top leagues overseas
  • GOONx19
^ This. I still think it's on the owners. The players have other options. If they start to lose too much every one of them, regardless of skill, can play elsewhere. And some of the smaller teams' owners CAN'T afford to miss multiple seasons. They'd have to sell.

They won't play at all this year. Neither side cares. But beyond that, it's up to the owners to give in.

    LOL

I'd love to see Kobe Bryant or Lebron James pull in 15 million a year overseas. They wouldn't come close. Deron Williams is getting what, like 5 million? I think that's the largest contract overseas EVER.

The players will cave long before the owners. The owners are already rich, and most of them actually are losing money from having the NBA with the past CBA. The owners are actually making out by having a lockout rather than overpaying a bunch of players.

Maybe it was already mentioned but how would the draft go if there was no season this year?

No one knows for sure, but it will be either the same draft picks as the year before or it will be an average record over the last 'X' amount of seasons. Hopefully the former as a Cavs fan.

You must not of been paying attention to the offers Kobe has been getting

Offer is one thing though. Getting paid overseas, no matter the name, is another.

Those owners offer a bunch of money, they never intend to pay. Many teams simply hold funds if they arent making enough.

I would assume they still do a lottery for those first however many picks after they establish which records they are using.

Apparently Mark Cuban suggested getting rid of a salary cap and just penalizing teams with a luxury tax if they go over a certain spending limit. This will ruin the NBA imo, and will almost guarantee contraction.
