Pittsburgh Penguins 2011-2012 Thread

End of LineIt had to be that douche Max to get the EN. Fuck him, Jagr, and the Flyers.
-
I Am AhabWhy are all the Pittsburgh girls so wound up about Jagr? Typical Pittsburgh fans. Dude helped bring two Cups to that crap city and they hate him.
Jagr doesn't owe Pittsburgh anything. He already gave them more than they deserved. No reason he had to choose Pittsburgh for his comeback. Get over it.
So glad the Flyers rained on the Vengence on Jagr parade. Now they can all go home and cry in their pillows -
like_thatGreat win for Philly. Not surprised to see them dominate the game. They have been owning the battle of PA as of late.

You hate Pittsburgh and that's fine but I think the dislike for Jagr is warranted. Frankly, it wouldn't even be the case if he wouldn't have pretty much said that he'd take less money to come back and play for Mario and the Pens AND THEN he signs with their main rival. I've got no problem with Talbot. I bet you don't understand why Cleveland fans don't care for LeBron either. LOL
Anyways, didn't see the game because I was watching ND look like shit and lose but losing this game is a real bummer for the Pens. Damn. -

Yea, but not even LeBrick could overcome the shitiness that is Cleveland and win them anything.killer_ewok;1031222 wrote:You hate Pittsburgh and that's fine but I think the dislike for Jagr is warranted. Lol. Indeed. Thanks for the input troll. Now you can sigh and smile in your pillow knowing that you are indeed an internet hardass and really showed those Pittsburgh fans something!!I Am Ahab;1030901 wrote:Why are all the Pittsburgh girls so wound up about Jagr? I Am AhabOh well. If I'm a troll I'm a troll but all I hear on the radio yesterday is people crying over Jaromir Jagr. I think the dude is entitled to change his mind if he decides he doesn't want to go back to Pittsburgh. Like I said he doesn't owe Pittsburgh anything. He helped bring two Stanley Cups.
And comparing that to the Lebron sit. Is grasping. For one no one outside of Pittsburgh gave a shit about Jagr's comeback. I don't understNd what Cleveland fans saw in Ledouche in the first place but thats irrelevant here.
All I know is the wahmbulance was busy in PGH last night. -

You're right that Jagr didn't owe Pittsburgh anything and I don't think that's the gripe that most Penguins fans have with him. It's the stuff that he said and then signing with Philly that leads one to believe that he used his "interest" in returning to Pittsburgh and playing for Mario to get more money out of the Flyers. He's completely within his rights to do that, but you've got to expect some backlash from the fans.
Also, my mention of LeBron wasn't a direct comparison but rather pointing out that fans will voice their displeasure when they feel wronged or slighted. LeBron's departure from Cleveland was much worse than Jagr shunning the Pens, not even close. However, I'd say the reactions were appropriately different as well.
My point is, it's understandable that fans react when they feel slighted...whether it's a big fuck you like LeBron did or a little one like Jagr. -
GoPensHe doesn't own the Penguins anything. Perfectly free to sign with who he pleases. If he had kept his trap shut he wouldn't have gotten the reaction he did get but he says stuff like this...
"It's not about the money. I would play for the league minimum just to join Mario Lemieux's team once again."
Then he made it about the money and signed with the Pens main rival. He had every right to do so. Just like Pens fans had every right to boo him. -
End of LineMalkin went into Beast mode yesterday and had 5 points. He is now 1 point behind Henrik Sedin for the league lead in points despite playing 8 less games.

wildcats20Not caught up on this thread, but I just saw this article...

I really hope they can figure out what is going on with him. Not a huge hockey fan, but NOT having him apart of the game hurts it big time. -

It definitely sucks that this keeps happening to him. Not good for the Pens, not good for the NHL and most importantly....not good for him.
On another note, Pens are gonna have to scrap just to make the playoffs at this point. If Geno can keep playing well and a couple guys return from injury soon...I think they can. Letang should return any day now and that will be big for this team. -

Ewok, Letang returned to practice today and Staal should be back in 2 weeks or so. -

If they can get a couple guys back, they'll at least be a playoff team. I just think it will be like last year, where other teams will have that extra "playoff gear" and they'll be basically in that gear just to get there, so they won't be able to raise their game. I thought that was what happened last year against TB. A few games into that series, they just went to another level and the Pens couldn't match it.killer_ewok;1055521 wrote:It definitely sucks that this keeps happening to him. Roloson stood on his head the entire postseason last year. He's pretty much the only reason why they even made it to the ECF. If the Pens had Jeffrey they would have moved onto the 2nd round.Heretic;1055761 wrote:If they can get a couple guys back, they'll at least be a playoff team. like_thatNever thought the Pens would be fighting just to get in the playoffs this season.
-
GoPensGoing to the Montreal and Washington games this weekend. Would be nice to get some bodies back. Busy week for the Pens with games Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Oh, I agree. Just saying that without them they're doing their best to keep their heads above water at this point.Heretic;1055761 wrote:If they can get a couple guys back, they'll at least be a playoff team. HereticThree straight wins after that big slump that took them down to out of the playoff picture temporarily. Very nice to see. That's the big thing I love about Bylsma as a coach. Both last year and this year, the team's had enough injury issues that it'd be easy to imagine them folding, but so far that hasn't happened. Just when you think they're in serious trouble, they pull together a good streak to stay in contention.
