Understood. But, do you remember Casey Blake? Our 3B, 1B, and RF? It's been done before. That shouldn't come as a shock to you.Laley23;845668 wrote:I meant Valbuena. The 2B in ****ing LF. -

I agree with everything you say, EXCEPT Santana. I can't stand the guy. Sure, he's good BEHIND the plate, but at the plate? Come on, dude is so hit or miss it's disgusting. I would have much rather kept Victor Martinez. Possibly the only player to ever cry when being traded from Cleveland. When Santana shows some consistency at the plate I will retract this entire statement, but as of now I can't stand seeing him hit!Footwedge;846366 wrote:I like Choo a lot...and a team can win games with Mike Brantley. There's always a chance that Sizemore could bounce back the way Pronk did...but I really doubt it. The real problem as I see it....we do not have a major league first baeeman or third baseman. They are all junk. Maybe Phelps or Kipnis can develop. I would bring them up, play them, and find out. I do know that LaPorta, with his swing, should be sent packing. Santana might be a good first baseman...at least he takes a healthy swing at the ball....has power...and gets on base a lot.
The bottom line is that baseball is fugged up....until they fix the cap discrepancy, there is no solid reason to really give 2 schits as to what the tribe management does. -

Casey Blake was a 3B, 1B, and OFer. Valbuena is a 2B/SS -

Ok, so even then... 2B/SS are the more athletic players on the field. What is the problem with putting them in the outfield? There are a ton of utility players, and I'm not saying Valbuena is top of the line. Hell, he may be the worst utility player in the league, but when it's all you've got you have to use him. Who knows, maybe he just had a bad night. That happens too.Laley23;846763 wrote:Casey Blake was a 3B, 1B, and OFer. Valbuena is a 2B/SS
I'm not sold on this team being a World Series contender, but I grew up on baseball. And in an area where you only had a few good players and then had to figure out what everyone else was able to do. The Indians are going through something similar having limited talent and a lot of young guys.
Out of curiousity, when Sizemore and Choo come back, what do you suggest we do with Fukudome? -

really, you are judging him on his first 5 at bats after he was traded? did you think he was going to start hitting bombs his first game? we gave up people to get him and statistically he is better than just about everyone on the team, you gotta play him. are you are saying you would put a recovering sizemore back on the field? i really dont even think choo will be worth putting back in the line up full time when he gets back. -

Casey Blake WAS an OFer....Valbuena isnt. Did you see him out there??? Jesus. He cost us 2 fucking games!!! Putting Blake out there wasnt bad, because he knew what to do and played OF. Valbuena was put out there because we had no other OFer. Then the next night he was put out there because our Manager is an idiot and we didnt call anyone up over night.
