Yeah I bet, not on the Dolan's watch. BTW We're going to give up too much for fukuworthless RT @si_jonheyman: theres agreement on fukudome to #indians, w/ just logistics to go. #cubs paying vast majority of fuku's $5M.
No way they trade him for nothing if they're paying his contract. SMFH. -

What do you mean you bet? The Indians made an offer for Beltran and it included picking up his entire salary. Beltran rejected it through his agent Boras.Commander of Awesome;844270 wrote:Yeah I bet, not on the Dolan's watch. .... -

No it was his remaining salary on the yr. There's a difference. -
Con_AlmaOf course it was for the remaining part of the year or the entire time he was playing for the Indians. Isn't that enough?

Agreeing to pay the remaining salary and one prospect for the Mets second best offensive player and best trade bait is def not enough and the fucking Idians knew it. They made the offer to save face to act like they tried to do something. -

I haven't commented on why they made the offer but I asked what it is you think they could spend money on. I provided an example of them making an offer of spending money on a high priced player in Bletran. Offering more prospect in the deal doesn't mean they are willing to spend more money.Commander of Awesome;844287 wrote:Agreeing to pay the remaining salary and one prospect for the Mets second best offensive player and best trade bait is def not enough and the ****ing Idians knew it. Where would you like to see them spend money? There's not a lot of options to do so right now. -
WooballHeard it is for 1 upper level and 1 lower level prospect. That is still pretty vague.

Isn't that what he ended up being traded for? -

The mets agreed Beltran didn't. So I dk where you are getting at -

Where did you hear this? -

Paul Hoynse tweeted it. It just says upper level and lower level, so I'm not sure how to take that. Does that just mean a AAA player and A-ball player? or does it mean a top tier and lower tier prospect? I'm assuming it means the former. -
WooballHoynes says its 1 pitcher and 1 position player
-
like_thatRegardless, Fuckingdome does not deserve 2 players. He has been a bust since he came to the MLB.

dazedconfusedi can live with carlton smith and abner abreu if those are the two going west

Yeah, I don't see how going from the shittier league to the much tougher league is going to help fuckyoudome lol. -

Beat me to it. I thought the whole purpose of this was to acquire a "right handed stick with some pop?" Instead they snag a punch & judy hitter who bats lefty? -

He's better than Travis Buck and Austin Kearns -
hoops23If that's who we gave up, I'm fine with it. He's an upgrade over Kearns/Buck/Duncan and people seem to think the Indians have another move or two lined up.

That's not saying much. I wouldn''t give a way pieces for a player like fukodome, especially since this team will be out of contention after these next 13 games.bases_loaded;844378 wrote:He's better than Travis Buck and Austin Kearns -

It doesn't make sense to make a trade for a 34 year old if you aren't buying -

I would give away two prospects neither being top notch for a guy who is an immediate upgrade -

I'm going to wait to pass judgment on this move until after the July 31 deadline. IF nothing else happens, then this move doesn't make any sense. If they make another move for a middle of the order bat, then I think Fukudome could help extend the line-up.
